Does anyone know where a complete axle can be bought for a turbo CSM?

the the intermediate shaft you can also use one from a 1G (and 2G maybe) AWD DSM.

you dont have to... lol. the stock 1.6T CSM seal works fine.

i thought that two.. also used a DSM FWD F5M33 trans with the 4g61t intermediate shaft as well.. and that worked fine, no axles leaks at all.

I used a 1g dsm intermediate shaft on my 1st colt swap and it leaked like crazy with a fwd axle seal in there. I took a new fwd seal and a new awd seal, used rtv to hold them together and let it cure. I know it sounds ghetto, I thought so too when someone told me to try it. But it worked like a charm and held up fine.

Im sending in a few friends to try and get that 4g61 axle from that junkyard this weekend chris. Hopefully they can get it. If not I'll try the two seal thing.

Couple of questions:

A previous owner installed a long axle (no intermediate shaft) on my Colt and it leaks fluid at the tranny. Is it the seal or is it because of the shaft?

I have acquired the proper intermediate shaft and axle for my Colt, does the intermediate shaft bracket bolt to the block first then the A/C bracket or vise versa?

If I remember correctly on awd dsm's the ac bracket is used as a spacer for the intermediate shaft bracket.

As for the leak I'm going to guess that the previous owner used a 4g15 driver side "long" axle and that is causing the leak. The 4g15 axle splines are a little too short which causes the c-clip to not lock in to the trans.

Congrats on your find. My long shaft has the same shaft thickness as the correct left short axle, could it be out of a N.A. 1.6 CSM? So would that mean I'm in need of a new tranny seal possibly?

And does anyone else have experience with the intermediate shaft and the A/C bracket as to which one bolts the the block first?

yes, on DSM's the far left bolt has to go through the a/c bracket... or you can use just a spacer there if you dont have a A/C bracket anymore. its the thickness of about 3 4g63 head bolt washers if im not mistaken. Thats what i used as a "spacer".

On 4g61t with intermediate shaft they use the more right side hole/boss in the lock (closer to the tranny) and the 4g61t intermediate shaft uses TWO spacers on both bolts.... again use a spacer size equivilant to 3 head bolt washers for both bolts.
