Yes, I did send them a sample. They are 83.5mm Which is 1.0mm over stock. Ross has computer data of the 1st gen 4g63 head, so basically they matched the 4g61 piston to the data for the '63 head, and came up with the hybrid piston. How are you doing with your '61? What's the most you have gotten out of it?
Mine is running good, added a few more nice complements since dynoing 308 hp uncorrected at 6,000' elevation. Got a stronger clutch, DSMLink and 1150 fic's to run e85. I ran a 12.3 @ 122 on the old set-up at 18 psi...this thing absolutly flys compared to that. I'm running 23 psi now and my logs show me spinning till 85 mph when doing a 3rd gear roll from 60. I'm running drag radials too and my LSD still hasn't gotten here due to a weak supplier...so traction will have to wait.
I've been trying to find someone to send me a set of their stock 4g61 na pistons for some comparison work. I want to see what kind of power I can get out of the stock bottom end before spending money on forged high comp pistons. I know the pistons are definately the weak link. I've got another 4g61t in my garage that I am thinking of doing a full build in the distant future.
