So this is what the Colts been up to lately...

I figured the 20g at 20 psi was outflowing the old intercooler so I slapped another one on, 140 shipped and I sold the old one for 80 bucks! Had to hack up some stuff but not much at all, right now the grill cant be used till I figure out how I am going to reroute those wires

Even though it became a pain in the ass, I loved this mod! Bought a alternator relocation kit from JNZ they had laying around, Buschur racing for 75 bucks. wheres the alternator?

Oh there it is!

Where did the come from?
Image

Galant vr4 tranny that needs a rebuild, 60 bucks

4 bolt rear with galant vr4 subframe with 4 lug so I can keep my wheels!

Also I got the car aligned since it was all out of whack from me taking off the shocks and replacing the axles. As of right now at 20 psi it runs great, just really rich! Cant wait to get the cams, hyduai valve cover, meth kit, then all wheel drive here I come

Oh last but not least! Its so pretty

Looks like you've been busy man. You are going in the same direction that I wanted to go with it until I had to sell it. I wish you were closer because I'd love to help with the AWD conversion.

Can you just notch out the grill to fit around that harness? I had to run it like that in order to mount the radiator under the core support. Also do you think the alternator sticks out further than an AC compressor would? The reason I ask is it may be in the way of the rear AWD mount now but I'm not sure. It was hard to tell from the angle of the pic.

Glad to see you're still enjoying it man, since I've been putting an engine together for the Elantra and working on it I'm remembering how many hours I had in that thing. Alot of late nights and busted knuckles for sure :P . It's really good to see you taking good care of it and making it even better. Good job!

Thanks, yes i have been busy but still have lots more to do! I probably could do that, as of right now I havent been too concerned, I ordered hood pins for it today and am going to try and fine tune it a little more. I am not sure on the A/C compressor, I could take more pics, would that help? Ive seen your progress on the Elantra/summit, so you finally went with the Elantra as the candidate for the 4g63? I can only imagine how that will come out seeing your work from this car! Thanks and I still want to meet you one day!

I wanted to swap the Summit but it just drives so nice, is super reliable, decently quick and has ice cold AC. I just ordered everything from CaptainTonus for the 60k maintenance so now I'm positive it'll stay stock. 158k on it and it runs like new.

I really want to do an Evo III swap but it seems they are getting popular as well, the Elantra will be a better sleeper and alot cheaper and easier for sure so that will more than likely be the route I take. Plus I have a GVR4 rear laying around for it as well  .

I have no idea on the clearance for the alternator I just remember seeing on Jason's AWD video that he mentioned having to use smaller tubing to clear the AC compressor. Maybe someone with the AWD swap can take some simple measurements for you.

If all goes well we will be at the shootout this year. That's why I want to get all the maintenance done on the Summit as the current timing belt has 100k on it :o . Looking forward to meeting you and alot of others from the board as well. Plus it'll be my first shootout even though I've been into DSM's for 10 years.

Unfortunately for me, it doesn't look like I am going to make it to the shootout. My ride up there says its a slim chance because he just recently got a new job. I know the car would make it a long ways, but I don't want to put the miles on it. Ill find out for sure in a week, but ill keep you updated.

It is looking really clean under the hood. Have you considered cutting the front ear off of the timing mount bracket since you don't have power steering and remove the front engine bracket?

Is that shiny JMF manifold going to clear the firewall, and or when the TB is reinstalled with an elbow, will it not hit the Brake Booster? I seem to remember people having issues with long running intakes creating this issue in CSM body cars.
