So I'm logging 100 degree intake temps from my fans blowing hot air at the intake. Is anyone else having this problem and does anyone have a solution besides cutting and hacking. I'm about to track the car again and have half the mind to rip the right headlight out to help prevent knock. Anyone fabricate a "ram" of sorts to funnel cold air in???

I remember a few years ago there was a guy modding the P/S corner light. I'm thinking it was Mattgsr but I could be wrong.

You could modify the passanger corner light by cutting out the clear section before the amber and cutting out the back part so it's some what of an air duct on the standard usdm lights, Or just when your running at the track or going out for a night of pulls and fun pull the corner light itself out.

There was this that was tried not to long ago http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... it=we+tile

This was a custom made duct http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... rner+light

You can cut a hole in your fender and run the intake pipe through there so the air filter gets outside air, but then you have to worry about it potentially sucking up water if if rains. I ran setups like this in my DSM's and never really noticed a difference. Maybe you should orient your air filter so it's not near your radiator fan.

I've heard of these "ice tube" things, not sure how efficent or useful they may be but someones apparently used them with somewhat success if they're on the market. Or maybe its just half decent advertising :P

if you look at some pics of my engine bay its kinda hard to do without getting rid of the damn 2G MAF. i just dont like the fact that my intake temps are so high and i only have one fan for the radiator and coolant temps are 206-210 all the time... i tried wiring up the second fan to a relay switch with an inline fuse but the damn thing kept blowing the fuses in line and then my 30 when i got rid of the inline one.

Nice thing about the MAFT is you can run an intake pipe where ever you want and any boost leaks before the GM sensor don't matter too much unless they're huge.

It was nice to meet you last week btw, sorry if I seemed little scatter-brained - I was in wtf is wrong with my car mode :)

Pour something other than squirrel urine in the tank on race night, like some leaded 110, and you'll never go back.

Yeah about that boost leak... It's at the manifold and throttle body. About 3 psi worth of a boost leak. I stripped the threads out on one of the bolts removing the bolts. All the threads came out with the bolt. I've got another manifold just wanna get it powder coated b4 I put it on. And about the other night it's all good I get in the same zone everytime something screws up with mine. DAMN 1G ENGINES! DAMN YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING POTENTIAL AND LOW DEPENDIBILITY!

Haha squirrel urine. Where can I get race gas? I'd rather just go E85 but need some money first.

Screw the e85 for racing every once in a while...

These guys have it but they moved locations recently so call and verify.

http://www.ochsoil.com/Contact/contact%20main.html

They have a 111 leaded and oxygenated 113. They are open from 6am to 5pm only and you now have to bring a gas can to fill up on the good stuff.

Run your tank down and put in 5 gallons at the races.
