It came with a set of aftermarket 16's for summer. I also have a set of 17's as well but by all means if you have van pics of any sort hell yeah lets see em. I think about a year ago i found a thread that had pics of mitsu rvr turbo and that changed my world forever. Its kinda funny i wanted to sell my awd colt so that i could buy colttsi's "summit evolution" i ve been looking for at least a year probably three, i check kijiji pretty much daily. Anyways i was too busy at work to even try to sell my car, and i didnt think his van would ever sell. Boy was i wrong. My van is number one on my list already. Ive only had it one week and already its the last vehicle out of my entire fleet i would sell. Because its the hardest to replace. In the end it worked out great for me soon i will be up to 3 4g63t colts.

Does anyone know the stock compression ratio of a 93 4g64 with the sohc 16v head? I wonder if i could make 230whp with that. I'll have to do some hard googling there has to be answers out there.

Never mind my decision just became easy. I went and checked my oil. Down 2 litres (2 quarts) in about 700 kms. I wont be using the 4g64. Funny it burns that much and runs as good as it does. Im thinking valve seals. Doesnt matter ill just use a 90 4g63t ill swap the whole harness over too, not like i dont know how to do that by now. The wiring for this van will probably be wired like a 2g no doubt, just like my 93 4 door colt is. Ill probably just throw it in stock for now, and upgrade it later. Ill just have to upgrade the clutch while its out in case if i decide to beef it up later, which i will.

Ok new plan now again. My awd race colt has the brand new centerforce clutch/ fidanza flywheel, and i have been wanting to upgrade that anyways to a twin disc setup, So ill be pulling the whole motor and tranny out of that. While im at it i might as well just put the whole motor in the van as well seeing as its all been gone through. Its been abused real bad at the end of the racing season, not sure how strong it is anymore, i did put 25 psi through it and back to back 123 mph runs.

So the setup is=
20g
dnp tubular
3 inch pre cat exhaust with cab controlled cutout cat back will be stock (will be sleeper as shit!!)
aem ems
khs ssqv (sounds like ass by the way)
way overkill ebay intercooler
tial wg
fic 1050
walbro 255/ aero afpr

3 bolt dsm rear diff

According to the hp calculators the added weight of the van should put me at 11.8 or so. About the same time i already ran i just would need to run a good 60 foot not a 2.0!
I have not found one video on youtube of a turbo vista. Why the hell not?
This is getting me more pumped about this than ever.... I already have the best sleeper in sask... Nobody else is even close... So i have to one up myself.
Now that i dont need to put any money into this i will start on it right after the holidays. Ill go and abuse the shit out of the stock stuff as much as i can for now.

I believe these engines had an 8.5:1 compression ratio. All of the ones I owned burned their fair share of oil too, my buddy had a 95 awd eagle summit wagon with only 90k and it burned oil too. We had the head reworked with new seals and everything and it still burned oil afterwards. I believe the 2.4's suffer from stuck oil rings.

Here are a few pics of my old 93 AWD Summit:

This is kinda stupid but i thought i would post this up- g tech results!!!!

This is a bone stock van with back seat and spare removed for testing, it has no cat and k&n filter

0-60 8.7 seconds????!!!!!!!!
1-4 mile 16.98@ 80 mph!!!!!!!

I thought this thing was fast but this is insane. Not even being sarcatic here this thing is quick!!! This is the fastest n.a vehicle i have ever tested! It beats my 93 elantra and beats my old 99 accent and this is a van it should by all means be slow as molasses.

This thing is already faster than many 80's japanese sports cars!!

I think you need to make it a 11 sec car with full interior. I wonder what this would pull on the skid pad

Nice nice and nice!!

I LOVE THE COLOUR!!

I didn't think i would sell my old swapped van so fast either... i was sorta hoping i would be able to hold onto it longer and enjoy it for a year or so before i sold it...but the right guy wanted it bad... i guess the rarity and super awesome sleeper factor was too much for him lol. I would have loved to hold onto it but i needed the money to save up for downpayment. But it did go to a really good guy....hes owned more csm's then me actually so it couldn't have went to a better dood.

with a stock 6 bolt 4g63 with a smic and 14b, a mbc, and 3" full exhuast i managed a 13.7 @ 99 mph. i bet with a better launch and some better tires a 13.5 or lowish 13 would have been easily obtainable.

i loved it... fun to drive... easy to drive.. decent gas mileage and best of all... who would suspect it!! hahah

heres some shots of my old van, for good old time sake. *cry cry*

Oh and when i sold it the interior was all back togtther and oem looking...it also was running perfect too and the 4g63 pulled super hard. i miss it... waahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

And here is a your old engine bay now (well, the engine stand is now gone ;)):

I am also doing a 4G63 swap, only I am building a more serious race/street car. I already have EVO8 syspention, EVO3 radiator. It will start out with a 14b turbo for break-in, but eventually, will have FP RED.

More info on my project are here:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3117423/1993-eagle-summit

The reason why you can't find many Vistas on line is because most of these vans were sold as Eagle Summits, some were Mitsu EXPO LRV, but Vistas are extremely rare!

Keep up the updates!

Looks good man, I actually check your Cardomain page from time to time for updates. I had a 94 Colt Vista a few years ago. Bought it with a bad tranny at the auction and did a manual swap. It was FWD though. These are definately sweet little wagons and make great daily drivers.

That's a pretty cool writeup you've got going there Leon. I really like it when people actually document their builds with step by step photos. It really gives you an idea of exactly how much work and time goes into doing something like this. Good luck on it in the future and I can't wait to see what this thing does when it finally runs...

I finally found a pic of my 94 Colt Vista, I picked this thing up at a public auction for $300 with a bad tranny. I went to the yard and bought everything to do a manual swap and completed the job in a few days. Tossed on some white GVR4 wagon wheels and changed the t-belt stuff. I probably had $800 or so invested when I was done. Drove it a few months and posted it on Autotrader for $2500 and a guy called from California and offered me $2300 and it was on the truck to be shipped a few days later. One of the very few Mitsu's that I actually made money on  .
