Yes, this is a legitimate ad, search my username, I was a contributing member to this site several years ago.

After a big crash back in 2003, I had my rallycar reshelled (put the old cage in a new shell). I paid for it, but never picked it up from the fabricator. I havent seen it since dropping both cars off back in early 2004. Read all of the below information. I will not be responding to stupid questions. You MUST pick up the spare parts form my house in San Jose, CA BEFORE you pick up the shell in Morongo Valley, CA. If you want to drop off a beer when you pick the stuff up, cool, but otherwise there is NO catch. If you want to build a really bad a$$ rally car, then you may want to consider purchasing some of the other parts I have for sale, but that is not a requirement of getting the cage.

As for the Colt, here is a rough list of what is included for FREE!! I also listed some of the other items that I wont exactly give away for free, but that a rally car builder might be interested in if he/she were as anal as I am. Everything has been stored inside and the motor has occasionally been turned over, but has not been started.

In Morongo Valley at the fabricator:
I have not seen it since it was dropped off so this is just an assumed list. stripped Colt GT with CroMo 1.5" cage with side mount seat brackets and X through firewall. The car should have doors, hood, hatch, steering rack, steering column, stock front suspension and rear axle with 5 bolt talon hubs attached, front and rear bumper covers, aluminum rear bumper and some wheels worthy of rolling it around. May be lights on it still? The rear axle may be bent? There are no windows, motor, trans, radiator, interior. The shell is not seam welded.

In San Jose:
1 hood, 2 hatches (1 lightened with a plexi window), 2 fenders, 2 doors (both lightened), plexi windows for the whole car except windshield, 2G MAF and nice heat divider, brake pedal assembly, several master cylinders, all in great shape, and all big, like 1", 1-1/8", aluminum Stealth front bumper, motor/trans mounts, slightly cracked outer carbon roof vent, dash, tailights, several CV axles including the colt prop shafts that are pretty hard to come by (I think I have at least one turbo colt and a few AWD Talon), DMS shocks/struts, 1 perfect rear, 1 believed to be perfect front, and one questionable front, bunch of motor spare parts, high flow cat, fuel tank skid plate and fuel tank with high flow walbro pump

Items NOT free, but for sale that would fit the car perfect:
NA 4G63 built on a big rod turbo block. JE pistons, 11:1 CR, 1mm oversize valves, cams, porting, header, EGT, AEM EMS w/ wideband, full custom wire harness $4500
trans with Quaffe has 13 miles on it $1500
wilwood front brake calipers/adapters/sst lines (talon) $200
F & R powerslot rotors with about 13 miles on them (talon) $100 for all 4
slightly twisted Fluidyne radiator, does not leak $100
Or, for $6k I will sell everything above and include skid plate, full autometer gauges, hydraulic handbrake and stainless braided lines, carbon inner roof vent, and EVERYTHING I have mitsu in my garage that I havent already typed above.

Take Care,
Chris

:o Definitely interested! Can you elaborate on the cage and the condition of the shell as it was when you dropped it off? Rust, dings, etc?

I dont think the condition when I dropped it off is very relevant. It has been moved around a shop, the shop moved to a whole new city and the car was brought with, and all the work was done to it so it is not in the same condition that I dropped it off in. For what it is worth, it was a CA car and has no structural rust, or accident damage. When I got the shell, I think it even had the full interior, but that is long gone. I have posted what I know is there, but there could be a bunch more, it will just have to be a surprise....hahaha. Seriously, I am not giving away junk, this is a relaly good platform and will save the right person a lot of money. There just isnt as much interest in rally as there used to be, and even less interest in the mirage platform so it isnt worth me trying to sell. It has been outside so it does have surface rust now, but it should clean up well. The pictures of the cage/car are on this site. I might have a few more I can post, or email to you. The cage was legal by the 04 NASA rules, but I think they have added a bar or two that you will need to add to be legal today.

Wish more members had the know-how and technical skills that you have. This is not a shot at anyone here, just stating that Chris has always been a member in excellent standing and even put together alot of good deals for special fabrication and such, back a few years ago. Do not PM him with offers for more, , just want people to know that he is not bullshitting you with what he is offering here. I'll try to get some pics up of the previous cage work. Too bad the original frame with all the seam welding lower suspension work is no longer with us. How is the ankle by the way?

If anyone reading this can find the back door listing for the pictures in the subdirectory of RRE's main site, then we will have all the old photos still kicking around. That is the last I saw of them, but I swear I catalogued them, but cannot for the life of me find them again. Man that agitates me ... well, on with the show. 8)

Ahhhh shucks man...I feel loved here. Actually, after Colts, I moved on to a few other choice toys and associated forums, but this site always had the best people. That is part of why my colt is here for free instead of for cash, or instead of posting it on the rally forum. I really hope it goes to a good home and someone gets to love on it.

Oh yeh, the ankle. When I finally went to the doc, it was some broken toe bones around the arch of my foot. Well that is if I am remember the right incident since there have been a few..haha Doing a lot of riding these days though so life is good!!

Here are some pics of the cage. NOTE THAT THESE PICS ARE THE ORIGINAL SHELL AND NOT INDICATIVE OF THE CURRENT condition of the car. The cage is the same, the seat mounts are there, and any parts I mention as available, are the same ones shown in these pics. I even have pics of the crashed car before the new shell if someone wants to see it (and video of the crash!!) It was a shame because the car wasnt crashed that bad, it was just that EVERY panel was damaged a little bit. It really was a tossup to fix the old, or build new.

I put a small album here:

Bump for an amazing deal. I'd love to have this for a grass roots challenge. Anyone willing gather the part and help me arrange shipping?

It was good to meet you today Chris. As soon as I pick the car up from Dave I'll post some pics.

Time to start a build thread :supz:
