Ok so theres a Colt for sale. And I been searching for one for a long time now. But only problem is, this Colt is a automatic. How difficault is it to swap it to manual? If its fairly easy I will be buying the car soon.

Well unless you get lucky and find a manual car with the hydro setup (some are cable actuated) you will be doing a pedal swap either way. Its easier to pull the dash to do the wiring in my opinion. You would just need the manual parts to bolt in while you have it all tore down. If the auto shell is nice and the price is right I would go ahead and snatch it up. Seems these cars are getting harder and harder to find.

They are getting very hard to find. I have been on the look out for one for years. Well it seems like years. Who knows, might just go with a built auto if its to much of a pain in the dick. But since I amd planning on doing the AWD swap and the 4G63 swap what more could it hurt to do a manual swap. lol.

The actual swap to manual isn't hard at all. It's finding all the right parts to make it work properly that's hard. After you find a csm with hydro clutch setup you'll need:
clutch pedal and assembly
clutch master cylinder and hard line that runs along the firewall
shifter base and hardware
shifter cables (these may not work if they're the non-adjustable ones, i purchased a pair of 89 GT cables that have the
adjustments and they worked perfectly.)

PS- IIRC the auto's don't have the bolt holes for a manual shifter base, so you'll have to line it up on the floor pan and drill your own.

Thanks for the parts list. Since CSMs are getting harder to find, it might be impossible to find them. Maybe I can buy some of the hard to find items new. Will the Mirage parts work. They seem easier to find.

I just finished my auto to manual swap. Chris(89mirageman) is correct. The job is much easier to complete with the dash removed. I got a beck-arnley master cylinder from advance auto parts. Part number 072-8844. Feel free to pm me for more details.

Also I will be stripping two hydro sedans this Saturday at the yard. Found them hidden yesterday way over on the domestic side since they were Summits. If anyone needs shifters or hydro pedals let me know.

The master/slave cylinders are much cheaper on ebay. I think I paid like $35 shipped for both.

Yea I paid like 60 just for the master cylinder. But I needed it the next day so I could get everything under the dash bolted up. If I were you I would just buy the whole 5spd setup from 89mirageman. That way you can get it all done in one shot with out hunting for parts
