The skies were exceptionally clear tonight, so I had to break out the camera. These pictures were taken around midnight, pacific time--no joke.

I decided to have a seat and reflect, literally...

Might have been Venus, I think it's visible right now.

No one behind the camera. I kept the shutter open for 30 seconds, which gave me enough time to go sit down. The reason I look like a ghost is because the camera just picks up the parts of me that are reflecting light, and I wasn't sitting there long enough to look solid. It's a neat little photo trick.

Saturday played host to the largest moon of 2009 but it didn't say the brightest but it wasn't hard to see that it was by far the brightest I've seen a moon in years. Up here in Canuckville it was ubber bright especially off the snow.. Awesome pics once again Tony.

I noticed that too up here, thought I was just wired and paying too much attention that night driving back home.

Venus is highly visable right now. at the end of november you could see venus, jupiter, and the moon about an "inch" apart in the sky. It was really great. It won't happen again til sometime in the mid century.

Someone tried to convince me that the earth has actually moved off it's normal axis...bla bla....but he had no proof. Sounds interesting though.

Tripod, remote shutter release, and a decent camera.

What kind of camera are you using? Not much point to attempting night shots if you don't have a DSLR.
