Of the FEW post I have made on these forums, I have never heard him say anything possitive towards me... to start out a past like his with, " enjoy the lag"... does he not understand that I realise I have a laggy turbo? I understand that the turbo is laggy, I dont need him to come in with the THOU art better than me attitude...
It wasn't meant to be disrespectful at all. I've tried to be helpful towards you plenty of times on this forum, so don't give me that "thou art better" bullshit--I'm not like that, and I doubt I would have been elected a moderator if other people thought I was like that. Like I said before, good luck with your car.

I get all the time when I had my stock 1.6 with 353,000 miles running the 60 trim everyone said the same enjoy the lag. I did car got 35mpg ran 114mph traps on radials and pump gas

IT would run down many higher powered cars on the highway but was in noway a drag car 13.2 et . I have a talon for dragracing my colt (casper) is the daily driver. I never took offense when people commented on lag I realized they where making an observation.
But when they rode in the car most liked the driving charateristics, and even most pony car guys liked to go for a ride. :) I called it the most fun you could have on 4 wheels while moving

Good Luck on your build

DJ

Tony is cool ya'll. He finds it hard to admit when he's wrong but he is always helpful however he can be.
I have talked with Him on here on many occasions and I know under all that BS he is a cool dude. Just because someone says something like "enjoy the lag" it doesn't mean you should take it in a bad way.
for god's sake man grow some ballz.
Tony isnt out for power in his ride anyway. If you can't take an opinion or criticism then don't ask for it.

:finga:

Billy badass ride btw. I can't wait to see it all come together.

Tony's my boy man. I just like to give him a hard time. He's always had a good insight on what you should and shouldn't do. His knowledge base is pretty extensive. If you can't find a good answer to your question from him, you should stop looking. He's helped me on numerous occasions. He is definately a definitive source on DSMs as well as CSMs.

Thanks to everyone who has offered insightful advice, One of the few parts I'm still having a hard time with is finding a CHEAP set of coil overs with a pretty stiff spring rate, but how stiff would you guys go and how would you set up the suspension for a high hp fwd car?
Andrew

I wish I could lend you some insight to your question. I'm looking for the opposite. I'm going to be using my Colt as a daily driver/road warrior so I'm looking for a nice soft ride but still be a "down to earth" monster in the twisties. Right now my car's a 4G61t with a F4M22 but I want to rock a FWD DSM trans so it'll handle the abuse I'm going to throw it's way. But suspension is next on the list of to dos so your answer will answer my questions too.

Use fwd dsm agx's up front, then you can use an aftermarket dsm lowering spring with higher rates. Mixed with GR2's in the back with stock dsm awd rear springs. That's the way I went. It's not for old ladies or those with hemorrhoids but I can take corners at 35mph and the car stays flat.

I think your engine parts complement each other very well. I also think the purple coloring complements the rainbow coalition equally well  .

The car should get down no doubt on the highway. Just try and stay safe, because your car should be a handful on the street.

Ebay coilovers with any good strut and heavy eibach springs in the rear should work well. I run 600lbs eibachs in the rear(I'm AWD), my brother's summit(FWD) runs 800lbs. The 800lbs springs are stiff, but its not bad on the street. We both run 450lbs up front. I'd recommend poly control arm bushings for reduced lateral control arm harmonics, which should help wth 60' times and overall control arm/suspension stability in a FWD platform.

Should that cast exhaust T4 flanged manifold, flow better than a mitsu flanged? I was seriously think getting that same mani but with a 35R T4 flanged.

Btw, the engine looks great man, purple isn't my color but it looks good though, I really hate dirty engine bays
