F'in right doggy, keep it up! Man that thing looks fabulous. That dynomax exhaust is gonna sound awesome in the 3" version, I know it.

Couple things though just to throw out some idears, not sure if you have found spots for some items but with the overflow can, mine is positioned over by the driverside headlight, not sure if it'll fit for you but it might, I love where its at. And I also mounted my translator with some velcro underneath the fuse box so no one can see it. Nothing worse than some guy looking at your motor and laughing when they read "horsepower in a box".

Will this car be your daily driver?
I had dual dynomax mufflers on my 90 NA 300ZX a few years ago and LOVED the way it sounded. Of course that was a V6 but still. If this one sounds half as good I'll be happy.

Any pictures of how you have your overflow bottle mounted? My plan was to just find a small square bottle off of another car and mount it on one of those tabs in front of the brake master cylinder, I think the air can went there before.

I had the MAF-T on my last DSM and the underhood temps cooked the sticker right off so it's just a black box now with some wires coming out. The big "Horsepower in a box" in pink writing is long gone.

Yes, this will be my daily driver but my future plans include getting my Dealers License and to open my own small used car lot. So having a nice, reliable ride with AC should be pretty easy. I'll just slap a dealer tag on whatever I have at that time. Plus my wife and I also have a 96 Sidekick. The Colt will basically be a toy for me to waste money on and to keep modifying. :P

After going to the beach yesterday and getting burnt I decided to take it easy today. I did manage to make a custom plate for my boost guage and Greddy EBC. Since I will not be putting a radio back in I decided that was the perfect place. I even got one of the green bulb condoms  or whatever you call them from my stock non tached cluster and put it on the bulb in the VDO boost guage. Now it matches the OEM guages perfectly.

I'll cook up a pic tomorrow of the overflow tank.

Got the front bumper cover trimmed for the I/C, mounted the boost guage and Greddy EBC and hooked up all that crap. Also fixed a minor leak on the return line from the turbo to the oil pan. Soldered and wrapped all my wiring and tucked it away neatly under the carpet hoping I never have to see it again. :P

I also mounted my overflow bottle as Paul suggested. You just heat the mounting tab a little with a propane torch and take some pliers and hold it where you want it until it cools. It mounts perfectly right in front of the brake booster where the stock air can went.

I've decided to go back to plan A and build my own exhaust. I didn't come this far on my own not to finish it so I ordered some 3" mandrel bends and hopefull they'll be here by the weekend.

Now that it's running I took the time to wash it and snapped some more pics.

I found time to finish fabricating my exhaust. I started off by chopping the mounting flange off the stock exhaust and porting it out to 2.5". I used a piece of 2.5" mandrel bent tubing from the flange, gradually went up to 3" and then added a 3" stainless flex pipe. Finished that off with a stick of 3" tubing and welded on some flanges that a buddy of mine cut for me with a plasma cutter.

I ditched the idea of using the Camaro style muffler on the back and decided to throw on a 3" Supertrapp that I had from a previous car that I owned. My total exhaust is about 6' long so there shouldn't be too much of a restriction. It sounds awesome with none of the discs installed. I can add some later if I ever want to quieten it up. I painted all the aluminized piping and welds with some heat resistant satin black. All in all I am very happy with the end result. As always, here are some pics.

Supertrap?

Did a Mullet come with that muffler

Looks goo though. Does it just exit under the body somewhere?

Nope, no mullet. Guess I got ripped off.

Yeah it exits about 2' in front of the gas tank. My eyes will probably be burning from exhaust fumes at red lights.

Thanks man, I've put some serious hours in this thing. It's starting to pay off though.

I actually got to drive it last night. I put about 5 miles on it and filled it up with 93. I've got to locate some more front springs as the weight of the engine and tranny has my car squatting in the front. It only has an inch of clearance between the tire and the fender and the tires are leaning in at the top. Once this has been fixed and I get an alignment I can then torture myself by putting 500 easy miles on it to break in the engine/clutch.

Hopefully you don't mind cabin resonance. My exhaust is very similar, a 3" megan 1g DP with a 3.5" dynomax ultraflow and turndown, ends right before the gas tank. Not bad around 60mph in 5th, but man if there is any considerable load on the car its fairly loud inside the vehicle, and yes you'll smell some gas too a stand still. Sorry I never got the overflow can pic for you, though I see you mounted yours where I mounted my catchcan, but here is where mine is just for an idea. I'm not even sure they are the same size so you might not be able to do it.

No problem man, I got the overflow tank all worked out. Looks like yours is in a good spot also.

Yeah, the exhaust is loud. Plus I have the discs that I can add if I need it to be quieter. No radio, ac, ps, pw or any of those "nice to have" features so it's not exactly a car that I would pile the family into and take off to the beach on anyway. It is however a fast, fun and good looking (IMO) car that I can buzz around on and have fun with. I'll probably be the only one that has to listen to it anyway.

A word of advice to those that use theirs as a daily driver though, run the exhaust out the back or side. It's loud.
