I just bought a 89 Mirage GT. I sold my boosted civic for this project. I have never worked on anything other than a Honda. So this is heavily new to me. I am going to keep the 4g61 in there to see how far I can go with it. I will hopefully have pics of it up soon.

Welcome aboard! The 4G61 is a good little engine that is fun to drive and tune. Won't have as much torque as its bigger brother the 4G63 but a helluva lot better than a 4G15 (sniff). :D

torque isn't all that its cracked up to be in a fwd car. why do you think boosted 1.6/1.8 honda's are so effin' fast without slicks.

ask my axles if they like the torque...

I will post pictures up once I can get a hold of a digital camera. I'm hoping to make some good power. If not, I can always swap in a 63. Does anyone know whats the most amount of hp anyone has made on a stock 4g61t motor?

the 61t is as strong as the 63t and will make over 300hp easy on the stock block...ask drag4g61t on this forum, i believe he took his stock 61t with 11b turbo in the 13's...he has a built 61t now that should be pushing close to 400hp

Hey welcome to the board, how much did u pick up the Colt Gt for? I'm currently workin on swappin in a 61t into my currently blown tranny auto 1.5 colt gl, doing a 5spd swap of course as well as gettin side skirts and front lip and have 1 pair of side skirts and the wing already so i'll have a replica GT. but yea welcome to the board nice switch from honda to dsm/csm. Much better handling ;-)
