Just realised I hadn't done a write up on the Colt yet, so here we go,

The Colt

Hmmm....what can I say, its a 91 Colt, 'powered' by a 4G61 n/a, got it in May with 115,000km on the clock, im the third owner and the previous two were chicks...so it was completely standard when I got it.

Factory goodies include Recaro bucket seats, funky gauges below the head unit, Cyborg front bumper, VR4 style sideskirts, plastic rear bumper, a rubber mid-spoiler from Mitsi Austria (lol) and a 90-91 spec Cyborg top wing.

MODS!!

Engine
~Removed Factory Air Intake Box
~K&N Filtercharger Air Filter
~XRacing S/S Spark Plug Cover (extra 4kw lol)

Suspension
~Custom Made Polished Front Strut Brace
~B&G 40mm Lowering Springs
~Rear springs further compressed

Interior
~Chopped Gear Stick
~Black Floor Mats
~New Gear Shift Boot
~MOMO Chrome Tube Gearknob

Exterior
~15" Mitsi Evo 2-3 OZ Lightweight rims
~Ralliart Mudflaps

Soundz and Security
~Kenwood CD head unit
~Kenwood 6x9 speakers
~Alarm and Immobiliser

The Colt was quite stock until recent, but I fixed that by adding 15" OZ Racing Evo III mags, MOMO chrome gearknob, Evo III Ralliart mudflaps, polished spark plug cover, polished strut brace, and just some other petty things like black floor mats, new black gear shift boot, 4g61t.org stickers  8) etc etc...

Gettin 40mm lowering springs soon probably, got the cash but the dude I was gonna buy em from got a new job so I dont get the hookups

Also should be gettin a Colt rear reflector and different front grille from a member here soon, in exchange for a mid rear wing.

PICS!

Old pics, see latest post for new ones!

Dude, you're car is awesome :D Are those wheel weights on the outside of your rims? If they are, they would look much better if you put them on the other side of the rims instead of the outside.

As usual we all pray to Mecca .... errrrr New Zealand when we see cars such as this. :hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail:
Now let the rally driving begin. Ever thought of going to 12:1 compression and roasting the motor? Maybe then you can ship the shell over to me! 8) Cheers on more forward steps for you snowdevl.

I wouldn't mind doing a rally actually, maybe even a hillclimb, gotta get the suspension sorted first though. When I get some money I plan on getting front and rear Whiteline swaybars and panhard rod, KYB shocks, 40mm lowering springs, and a rear strut brace. That should make the car handle like its supposed to :P

The interior/exterior have enough mods for now I think, the only other thing I want is tints. After that i'm gonna be sinking my money into the suspension, gettin the stuff I listed above, then I gotta sort out the rusty roof, and THEN, sometime in the next few years or so....boost! :P

I'm gettin a different type of Colt grille from a certain Canadian member on here, as well as a Colt rear reflector.

I'd think twice about the window tint - once you get it on the back windshield/hatch you can't really go back. I have had two cars with the infamous purple coloured trash on the back windows, one was bubbled when I got it and you couldn't see squat out the back, the other took almost 6 months and then it started in the corners. If you remove it you will guaranteed cut the defrost/heater lines (you guys get those standard right?) My two cents - I like the look too but I hate the downside to the tint. I was so happy to see that my Silver T Colt had never been molested with window tint. :ANAL:

Yeah you have a point Flying Eagle.

I would be getting it done professionally though. If you get metalised tint (not metallic/mirror tint, thats something different) it wont fade/go purple. There are also quite a few of places here that offer lifetime warrantys on their tinting, which i'd definately go for, just for piece of mind.

Also, from what i've heard, NZ has the highest rate of car theft in the world per amount of people in the country. Most people break in through windows, so I think security tints are a good option and well worth the price.

What do you think?

Just took my tints off my back three windows due to bubbling and peeling. I couldn't save the rear window defroster lines, i tried really hard but no luck. I think ill just use the anti-fog stuff on the windows.

Snowdevl, your car looks amazing man. i wish mine was in that good of condition.

Also, how did you guys get your tint off? I tried one time and it wouldn't come off. It is the original tint. And would a profesional be able to save the defroster lines?

Im not going to rally it ...yet, although I would like to do a hillclimb or gymkhana/autocross in it, just gotta sort out the suspension first. And no, i'm not going to get 17"s, I like the car how it looks now with the EVO 3 wheels.

And no it doesn't, but I know what you mean cos my old swift-r had it.
