I know this was probably covered here before, but the search didn't help in finding the answer i'm looking for. What is the proper procedure for resetting the TPS on a 4g63t? I know there's a test plug on the firewall that needs to be grounded, just not sure which one and how. Any help is appreciated.

For this and most other wiring related questions the repair manual for your specific year will be a godsend. There should be 3-4 books in there all covering different topics for you.

Sounds like you may be talking about the ISC. For the TPS I just probe the wires with my ohm meter, switch the car on and adjust it until its getting the correct voltage.

Ok. So i am a bit confused. The TPS should be set by voltage when the car is running or just with the ignition switch turned? Are you aware of a way to make sure the ISC is operating in sync with the ecu? A friend of mine is having problems with high idle(bout 3k) on startup after a fresh rebuild. It's definitely not cable related, and i just want to make sure everything with the throttle body is working correctly.

Idle that high sounds more like a vacuum leak than a bad ISC but here is a link to a site for testing the ISC: http://dmtalon.v8eaters.com/ISC.html

It is common to forget stuff like the brake booster vacuum hose with new builds.

You set the TPS with the car switched on, not running. I'd have to look through the manual to tell you which two wires to probe or what the actual value should be. I think grounding that plug on the firewall resets the ISC but I agree, idleing at 3k is probably vacuum related.
