I bought the car knowing it had blown turbo but I also found out there is a problem with the brakes locking up. I have a 14b that I'm going to throw on the car and now an new manifold because the stock one is cracked. Tonight I got started on pulling the turbo, I ended up breaking two bolts from the turbo to manifold and finding out the the stock manifold needs replaced. I also found out why the stock turbo was locked up. And I plan on painting the valve cover, lol.

wft, really

Looks like the factory bolt for non turbo cars. My guess is that they replaced the head with one from a non turbo car.

They probably plugged the oil feed after the turbo died so it wouldn't smoke... Or at least I've been known to carry that same bolt around in a car that the turbo was going out on

So I have made a little progress. I got the turbo off, engine bay clean, and the valve cover prepped for paint. I also looked at the brakes and it looks like one of the rear calipers was locked up, I got it off just need some money the rear calipers are around $100  . I also got all my gaskets, hardware and spark plug wires. The only thing holding me up now is two broken manifold studs, I can't fit a regular drill so I will have to get a right angle drill to get in there.

Pull the radiator for more room.

Yes, what 89mirageman said is correct. If you pull the radiator, you'll have the room to get in there with a drill.

Best of luck!

Come on now, of course I pulled radiator. The condensor is in the way now and I don't want to drain the ac line.

break the drill bit in half. = shorter drill.
