Started the swap this evening on the mirage now i am looking to do my suspension while i have the car in pieces. I will have the hubs off front and rear as i am doing the GVR4 brakes and hubs and GT slotted rears. Seems like a good time to do suspension. Where are some of the best places to buy Shocks and coil overs? I have close to 400 for a budget i can squeeze 500 but would like to stay closer to BUDGET and keep it cheaper...I am thinking KYB Gr2's (unless i find a killer deal on AGX's even used) Ebay coilover spring perches and i am having issues finding springs...I need 7" springs up front and 10" springs for the back. I would like 200# springs...ALSO need Top Hats (upper strut mounts) Thanks In Advance...-Op

Summit Racing sells the springs. Let me tell you from experience that the car will ride like SHIT on GR2's, and will still ride like shit even if you had good shocks like AGX's or even Koni Yellows on there.

A stiff ride does not really bother me as this is a fun car and will be tortured through corners but MOSTLY at the track and on the weekends... You and I talked before and i am wondering what the downfalls are of you EXACT setup besides the ride being bumpy? How does it handle? Hows the launch? Suspension travel, is there enough of do you bottom the shocks? ...Compared to the GR2's what is the difference in ride quality compared to the Koni Yellows?
I am in the budget range of Gr2's is why i ask. I can swing it just barely and run the coilover setup with 200# springs on all four corners. I searched summit as well and the lowest rate i found in a 6" spring was 450# lol And i don't feel like replacing my teeth. Thanks, Nick

So if i wanted to go a even cheaper route that still handles what about gr2's with regular drop springs for them instead of coilovers?

The whitelines obviously are not in production anymore but i could find springs...

The car bounces everywhere, including in corners. It handles good, it's real easy to throw around, and it's a lot of fun, but it still bounces everywhere and pretty much looks like every other riced-out Honda you see driving around on cut springs. It's embarrassing to say the least. Going to Koni's made a noticeable difference, but the ride quality still blows. There simply isn't enough suspension travel on these cars. It's not bouncy because of the springs, it's bouncy because the shocks aren't good enough.

Standard springs would probably be better than 2.5" coilover springs. It's hard to find a combination that will work with AWD DSM shocks, but if you're using CSM shocks just get lowering springs for a DSM and you should be good to go. If I was going to do things over, this is what I would probably do, but it's too late for me now.

Yeah, that's the problem everyone has. Either you can get stock replacement GR2's or expensive Koni's. The Koni's usually have to be special-ordered from Europe because no one stocks them anymore.

Nope. Tokico doesn't make anything for a CSM, and Eibach only makes springs.

Anyone had experience with the MR setups? I am curious about ride height...
Oh yeah pictures of the gr2's on anyones csm?

Yep, I compared the part #'s and they are identical.

GR2's are OEM replacement struts. They're not going to look any different than stock unless you're using some combination of lowering springs.
