I keep seeing the 89' Mirage turbos with a different style trim around the sides and bumpers. The white colored Plymouth Colt GTs had the red stripe all around, but the Mirage counterpart did not?

..can someone verify this for me? I'm a little curious because it's my understanding that I had a bumper swap from a Plymouth Colt GT, and I was wondering if that was something rare to come with a Mirage turbo.

All Mirages I've ever seen had black moldings with a red stripe, no matter what color they were. Colts on the other hand had color-matched moldings with a red stripe. Someone either painted your moldings white and retained the red stripe, or installed a complete set of Colt moldings from a white Colt.

You ever get a headache listening to someone explain something? That's how it was when the previous owner tried to talk about this car. All I ever got out of the talk was a bumper was replaced "for looks" .....all the moldings look to be on tight and definitely not painted...the plastic moldering is actually white, so I guess a person went the whole nine yards on that one. I'll be darned.

Well on the bumpers it's not a molding, it's actually part of the bumper--it doesn't come off. They'd have to be bumpers off a white Colt GT. On and around the doors, it is an actual molding that is removable.

Mine has the black mouldings with the red stripe, I would have to agree that someone put different one's on your car or they were painted. I think your car looks good with them like that .

I promise they are not painted at all.....I spent a lot of time scrubbing grease marks off around the car

As a bonus, I also have power windows and cruise control. Keyless entry is awesome, too! Suppose somebody did a lot of Plymouth Colt GT swapping on my car.

Nice. I don't think I've ever seen a Mirage with cruise and power windows.

Well that's good that they put moulding's on instead of painting them. I have manual windows and no cruise which is ok since i never use cruise control anyway.

I assume that all Mirages lacked power windows or cruise-control. But I could be wrong on that.

You also have body-color mirrors which as far as I know only came on Colts. What does your grille look like?

My Mirage has body colored mirror's on it, I think both the Colt and Mirage turbo cars had the body colored mirror's on them

99% of all Mirages I've seen have body-colored Mirrors. Mine is one of the only ones that doesn't for some odd reason, I think it has to do with the option package I have on my car.

The car didn't have a front grill when I bought it. I found one at a pick-n-pull....it looks identical to Tony's mirage grill.

My Plymouth Colt GT came with power steering and mirrors. No AC and no windows or locks. and my molding is molded silver.
