Nice ride!
Can't really help you out on your Q though... I know the FWD G32b and the 4G63 can mate to the same gearbox, but I don't know about RWD equivalents... The Mitsu Mighty Max (or whatever their little 4-cyl. pickup was called in Colombia) will have an RWD gearbox you can use with a 4G63 though if you want to go that route. I suspect you'll end up making custom motor mounts no matter what.

so, looks like I'll have a better chance if try to update the engine head with a EFI compatible, I don't really want a turbo, anyway never have seen a gasoline turbo Mitsu in Colombia, down here can be found, lancer and colts 1.6, Montero (pajero) 2.4 and the L200 pick up.. can one of those be a donnor?

I think you can probably use parts off the 4G37 (1.8l Galants/Eclipses/Lancer 4WD) and maybe even 4G15 stuff.

4G37.. probably.

4G15.. probably not.

Remember our engine families. :)

Yup. But some 4G15 parts may fit, i.e. ECU & other electrical stuff. However the machanical stuff has to be G3x stuff, for obvious reasons.

Come to think of it, I am curious if a 4G37 ECU would be an upgrade for a 4G15.

:o :o Why didn't I think of THAT! The ECU's are electrically almost the same! Maybe it'll bolt right up! But doesn't the 4G37 have bigger injectors? Would mean more potential for HPs. And with all those mods around... 8) What do you think?

If more resonance evolves, I guess we should start a thread in the 4G15 section.

Should be plug 'n' play. The MPI systems were pretty much all identical electrically.

The question is... who's gonna try it first?

Dunno. There aren't many 4G37 around here in Germany. However, maybe someone has an ECU laying around collecting dust.
And I got another idea. Wouldn't the 4G63 SOHC stuff work, too?
I think it is time to start another thread.

Not sure, and I'd agree with that.

L200 4G63 engine and gearbox will bolt in. i'm pretty sure your mounts will work but if not its some basic customising. i think you'd have to cut the tunnel a little to line up the shifter though.

i've got pretty much the same car over here in nz, mine came out with a 1600 4g32 with a single carb but once i blew the head gasket i started the upgrade to a 4G63T SOHC out of a Galant with EX1800 turbo lancer running gear (gearbox, driveshaft, rear disc brake diff, wiring loom, and a few other goodies). just got to finish off some of the wiring and set up the fuel system for efi then she'll be back on the road

these cars are very common over here with the 1200 and 1600 engine's, there are also some EX1800 turbo's around. the EX2000's were only released in england and yours is not an EX2000, at a guess i'd say an EX1800 from the little spoiler lip under the front bumper and somebody must have repowered it.

if you're interested i have a small collection of photo's of modified versions on my computer, i could email you some if want, just email me at str_ng_r@hotmail.com

cheers
Matt
