I'm swapping the 1.6 turbo from my Mirage into my 1990 Colt Vista 4wd. I have a 1990 turbo harness, but do not have these two parts. Anyone have them laying around?

Thanks.

Noise filter can be used from any DSM/Hyundai found in the yards. I have a Hyundai part that uses a push on spade connector fitment, and it is the same 47uf250V capacitor value that they have all been since EFI and or radios and electrical interference from ignition systems became a thing. Alternator AC hum/whine can be another ball of wax all together.

Hey Tim. Thanks for that. As I work through marrying the SOHC/NA harness with the DOHC/turbo harness, I'm learning a lot. (18 conductors that go in into the ECU are different, for starters.) I'll check the numbers stamped on the cap for capacitance rating and voltage, like you said, but I'm thinking I can use the one from the SOHC engine. So maybe that's resolved.

I saw a resistor ballast pack on ebay a week or so ago, so that may still be an option.

And I also realized I need the filter for the tach signal, but I don't have a firm grasp on the details of the design of this circuit yet.

I bought some original Hyundai coil packs assemblies (MOBIS parts) and they come with a brand new tacho interface module.

Ebay currently has lots on offer - For 1992-1995 Hyundai Elantra Ignition Coil SMP 16375YB 1994 1993

This was the 1990 type tacho interface needed to get the early type ignition pulses up a white wire to the cluster - 1990 DSM or 1989 4g61t, but also anything that used the 90 style wiring and had the 4g6x DOHC motor likely. Later it changed to being sourced from the PTU to the cluster and was in a different signal IIRC. Don't quote me, but that is what comes to mind.

I would have to check on the bottom of the coil pack I was using, to see what filter is applied to the ignition as there is one screwed to the base plate.

Confirmed that the noise filter bolted to the coil pack assembly is indeed a 250 - 0.47 capacitor unit like the ones used at the harness at the top left of the intake manifold - where most screw in place with a 10mm head bolt.

Tacho interface is labeled J602.

Buy a new coil pack resistor pack:

Amayama estimating 10+ in warehouses via Japan.

None available showing on partsouq.com but I got the number from that site building a 1989 4g61t Mirage.

https://www.amayama.com/en/part/mitsubishi/md099628

Also, the coil pack module is available brand new: https://www.amayama.com/en/part/mitsubishi/md126461 But at double the cost of Ebay.
