I'm looking for the LSD/chunk with gears from an early (84-89) AWD COLT VISTA. I figure someone will run across one sooner or later in the yards... Anyone have a parts car laying around? Thanks

Front, transfer case or rear end LSD?

If the Vista shares the same AWD/FWD setup that I delved I to when I opened up my F5M31 and F5M33, then you need an AWD Quaife diff (if you are doing the front), with the 25 spline center; AWD model fits all front diffs in that era/torque capacity of trans, and uses ball and cage bearings, extra shims on the lower ball and cage pressed in sandwich form and a speedo gear. I know this is the expensive route, but lifetime warranty! Maybe the diff is different? Maybe you don't want a front? What's it for ? Wink wink

The rear one. Lots easier to remove :) it's possibly a fit in my 72 colt.

I know they exist. I've seen them. Just didn't know the spline count on them is supposedly the same as the same on my rwd colt....

Anyone near this?

I'll buy the rear diff and you can scrap the rest :D

I am quite certain that all of the vans sold in the US were open rear diffs.

I'm not so sure about the early ones, but its easy as looking on the diff to see.

I'm sorry I just realized you said an 89 vista.
I was thinking the 92-95 expo vistas most people have.

I know nothing about the older ones. So are they a solid axle and that's why it may fit your old school colt?
