I finally started tuning 112 race gas instead of 93 pump gas last Wednesday, and I started blowing out spark anywhere beyond 25 psi. I had boost peaking to 30 psi at about 5500 rpm, and in each gear it would studder. I couldn't do better than 12.46 or something.

Friday I went back with new NGK BPR7ES plugs gapped to .026, and a new set of NGK 7mm wires (replaced the 1 year old still clean BPR7ES plugd eroded to .028, and a set of 1 year old Magstar Racing wires). Problem solved!

My first run, 12.42@115.10: (click image to view video)

I ran a total of 20 passes tonight, gradually pulling fuel and increasing timing. I had several 12.0xx passes, then finally in the last couple minutes before close I cranked up the boost a little more and hit my goal!

I seem to remember doing a few 1.70s in the past, but I can't seem to get the traction anymore. I wish the phone battery hadn't died, because I had all four spinning a bunch of times, with the back end zigzagging left and right. Fun stuff!

YES!!! That's so awesome to hear, brother! I haven't had a beer for almost two weeks, but I might have to drink one for you tonight.

I have dual pressure boost control, but my low setting is wastegate pressure (7psi) so I haven't used it since I went AWD. Yesterday I made a boost controller to employ for my low boost setting. I'm going to shoot for 17psi and hope I can get my 60' back down.

I was having trouble knowing when to shift to 2nd because all four were spinning all the way through 1st. Too soon and I bog down in 2nd, too late and I hit the rev limiter (and get traction at the same time) causing me to suddenly decell a little before the transition to second.

Low boost controller: --------Warning Shiny bling part below! Wear eye protection!--------Image

EDIT: Ha ha it works! It's non adjustable (without changing the spring) but it holds a steady 20psi on low, and on high it pegs the gauge to 30. LOL :supz:

Consider the LSP, Lower Shores Performance model if that doesn't work out 100%. Not sure if you need a bleed or not, or how worried you are, but as long as it runs consistent pressure, and enough to get you back in the traction, you are definitely ahead. What model of boost controller is that?

That's the hardware store brand boost controller. So far it seems to be giving me a pretty consistent 20psi. I run that for low boost, and the hallman MBC for high boost.

Lucky that you got away with .026". I gap mine to .020" and I still have spark issues sometimes.

Congrats on the times! What's your setup again?

Actually I was having spark issues at the shootout, so I ended up having to replace my plugs again, and run a slightly tighter gap.

I'm running 9:1CR CP pistons and eagle rods, e316g, FP race manifold, BC 272 cams, 3" exhaust, 2g MAF, a PTE 600hp IC, link v2.5, and a custom cold air intake.

That's awesome bro! I'm pumped for you. I always liked the look of your car so I had to bite your style some and paint my car silver but my wheels are painted with that black wrinkle paint. I'm just waiting on some parts and the gravel driveway self-built Colt 2.0 NT will be making its debut.
