...since this thing has moved under its own power. Lies! It's only been 11.98 months.

Auto-swapped with a 86k mile junk yard tranny. Drives around great, I'm kind of shocked how well it drives and shifts actually :)

The swap ran me about $400 for everything: Trans, shifter, TCU, auto harness connectors, tcase and LSD 4-bolt rear.

I'm still waiting on a TCU chip from Dave @ foreignmuscle.com. Then it will be ready to break more stuff.

The shot of the trans installed are a little old but you get the idea. I need to finish cleaning up the wiring etc.

Looks bad ash as usual. Did you do anything major to the junkyard tranny or just slapped it it?

Love the garage pic, beauty and the beast.

That's the weakest link?

I changed the pan gasket and cleaned the magnets. That's it! I may need to open the torque converter up a little to get out of the hole.

Why would he need a good supply of rear CV's? People seem to break transfer cases before the rear CV's break. With auto they're always pre-loaded, although twist may be an issue, at least it's a 4-bolt rear.

What did you do about the tranny mount? Also did you use the entire dsm harness or just cut the tcu wiring off and tap into the original harness? Looks like you had to clearance the frame rail a little too.

Can't wait to see some updated runs of it at the track!

That's actually the last thing I expect to break. (probably screwed myself with that comment...)

I flipped the stock one 180*, flattened out the tabs, and drilled new holes for the mount bushing bolt. It's only using two of the four bolts that mount it to the car since two don't line up.

Edit: For the wiring, Tony had a complete 91 auto harness. I stripped out the auto connectors I needed and spliced it into my megashart harness (with your help on the reed switch :)). Turned out pretty nice.

Yeah I was gonna say transfer case if not the CVs. I have no idea what breaks on fast cars; I have never been fast in my life. LOL

I'd bet $ on the tcase exploding. Chris already shipped me a replacement :)

When you're pre-loading the drivetrain, it's amazing how much less stuff breaks. When people start getting into the sub-1.4 60' territory on slicks they start to break transfer cases.
