Double check your state laws. Here in Cali a turbo is considered a muffler.

LMAO I joke with my buddies about turbos really being mufflers in disguise. But even with a turbo a straight-piped car will still be loud, it will not be raspy, but it will be loud.

I think California also has laws that designate actual limits in decibels for exhaust noise. Other states probably do too.

Exactly. We have a 95dB limit that every guy on a Harley with Screaming Eagle pipes violates on a daily basis. However the cops always seem to send the import guys to the sound ref.

Irritates me too. I think the biker grits pay into the FOP booster fund whereas us broke dicks don't pay for anything.

Don't you know that loud bike pipes saves lives too? DUH! lol...
