So after a while of thinking and a little work, my brother and I have came up with another option for the brake upgrade. I could have easily used GVR4 hubs, but I opted to go this route instead of throwing off the camber and such.
First we pressed apart the stock hub assembly, and unbolted the captive rotor. Then he used a lathe to turn down the hub enough for a GVR4 rotor to slide over from the front. This is the assembly on the car. (I installed new DSM lug studs, they looked a couple threads longer than the stockers).
Slide the GVR4 rotor over the hub, and then you can install the twin piston caliper. Using a 5.5 mm spacer between the caliper and hub assembly, will set the caliper where it needs to be. I'm having the spacers made, but for now 2 washers I picked up measure in at 5mm (should suffice for mock up). I'm also going to shop around for 5 mm longer bolts.
I'm sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures, but I figured this might interest some of you... Questions? Thoughts?
