So I just wired up a coil on plug for a friends car and the tach stopped working. It took us a while to figure out why but then we realized that the white wire that used to go to the transistor pack on the coil has no where to go...

So does anybody know how to wire up the tach if you using a coil on plug setup??

What year Colt did you do the install on? Is it an original turbo car? If not, what year wire harness is being used?

Well if there is a white wire on the transistor than its not a 89-90 style harness.

That diagram is what you would use on an 89 turbo car or a car with a 90 harness.

Got a bigger picture or one with clearer words on it? I'm old and I can't read it!

Its on a 89 colt original turbo. And it is using the original turbo harness.

It had the white wire running to the stock coil but i dont know where to wire it now?

Dont worry about what it says, use it for the colors. In the pic, the white wire is the grey wire. If the diagram doesnt make sense, I cant see how the car even runs??
