yes well, I have a 90 ECU and am wondering where factory rev limiter is, or if ther is one?

I ask since it seems like I can't hit it. I can be driving around and I'll be watching the tach go into the 8K+ range as I shift. Obviously I don't want my motor to throw a piston through an oil pan, which is why I ask. I think I may have hit it once, but was not watching the tach, It felt like I was wheel hopping (the same sensation) but no tire noise. I was thinking...........hmm, was that revlimiter? because the bounces were far apart, bam.........bam..........bam. Whereas when I bounced these other hondas of of limiter they went bam.bam.bam.bam.

thoughts.........

Your tach is wrong, factory rev limiter is set to come on at 7200 and compleate fuel+spark cut at 7500. Unless you have TMO moded ecu.

When I bouth my Colt I was told it had a different ECU in it and I've had the old 1.6 to way over 8 grand so I belive it. When I put the 90 ECU in I now cant fgo over like 7500, Ive hit fuel/spark cut racing and it sucks Im going to have a TMO by spring.

except it doesn't help if you miss a gear and go into 2nd instead of 4th - hello 10k+ rpm and 16 bent valves... :o

I went to first once instead of going to 3rd.... Doh.

I'm positive it saw 10K rpm. The car still runs fine, but I did catch it immediately.

Hmmm I do not hit the Rev Limiter very frequently in my cyborg, I find the limit changes depending on conditions, for example if I am Front Wheel Drifiting it round a corner I get the cut out at 7200 and its a nice bouncing cut out.

Where as if I am ringing the tits out of it on the quarter mile it will go all the way to 8K.

Odd I know, but thats what I see.
