Hello @ all...

Looking into my garage I decided it's time to save another piece of automobile history. After I've bought an original 1989 Mirage Turbo as a cat in a bag, I had to notice that the chassis was complete rusted. Nearly everything piece of metal is gone. But never give up - first, I bought a broken 1989 1.6 Colt GTi as donor car for everything but the chassis. Second, I bought a grandpa's 1989 1.5 Colt Glxi in perfect shape as donor car for all sheet metal parts. Now it's time to put the things together. I think, it will last up to 2 years until the car will be finished, but my goal is really simple: it should be like brand-new...
But even when I've experience in restoration - such a rare car is a challenge. Especially, because this modell never was for sale in Europe. We've no parts, no experience with that engine...
But I've good friends in the US that may be able to help, and good connections to local Mitsubishi dealers...

Wow it sounds like the elements got the best of it.
Take some before and after photos so we can see the progress. Good luck and props to you for saving it.

Welcome and thank you for taking on this sort of project.

We LOVE pictures, or even links to albums with pictures for us to look at.

If your mirage is an original C53A turbo car, please see the VIN Registry thread in the General Discussion Forum. It is a sticky thread at the top of the page.

You aren't far from the "other" C53A in red that made it over to France.

Before pictures of the donor cars, are always welcome!
