Making the jump from my 92 AWD Talon TSi to my new 91 Summit ES sedan. It has full power, the 1.5l motor and 4-speed Auto tranny. The plans are to pull the motor form the Talon and drop it into this little "hauler". I suspect I should find plenty of info on this site for the job at hand!! |

Yeah man be sure to browse the archives, there is tons of useful info there. Also look in the builds section for inspiration and post up some pics of your car too. It seems the sedans are more rare as swap donors. Oh yeah, welcome! |

I will definitely get some pics up. I think I will get 89mirageman's harness adapter to start, then work on getting the A.C. connected in since the summit has air. Once I replace the fuel-pump assembly (previous owner broke off both lines at the mount plate) and replace the front rotors and pads, I will drive it as is (the motor was rebuilt 5000 miles ago) while I pull th go-fast goodies from my talon and collect the necessary mounts and such to do the swap. Am I correct that my 91 summit would be a 3g equivelent? |

Not bad at all, there is a guy in Va parting one identical to this if you need any odds and ends. Yes, this is also considered a 3g. |

Thought I did. FIXED!! If he has a hood, I would really be interested, since this hood is bent at the hinge mounts due to flying open.I sure hope I like this baby when it is done. I plan on keeping it a FWD for the time being. We have a 91 Auto TSi AWD that we are going to convert to manual. Then I will keep the parts until they find a home on this... I already like how I fit much easier than my Talon. This even has a fully rebuilt 1.5 in it, with only 5k on the clock. At least I know I might be able to get a little coin out of it when I am done. |

Hey it's my twin! Even though I had the car 75% torn down I had a change of heart and almost have it back together. I started parting it out after I found a 2g to daily. Then I quickly realized why I have avoided Dsm's for so long in the past few months driving the talon I recently purchased. I will NEVER own another.

I remember your car, Rob was talking to you at the gas station in Norwalk. Yea, the more I think about it, the more I am going to keep this car FWD. Seems it will be much less modifications. Any how, I have been tiring of getting in and out of the talon (I am 6'8", 275lbs), So I am limited to the 1g to fit, and no helmet possible for me. I like the fit of the Summit much more, should be fun.I got the 1.5 running this weekend, just need new drums/cylinders for the rear and a tune-up and she can be a driver until March and the motor swap!! |

Car is running daily now. Unfortunately, it falls flat on it's face when you push it past 1/2 throttle. I have installed a new FP 255 fuel pump, fuel filter, AFPR, ditched all the stock intake except the portion between the MAF and IM. Installed a K&N air filter. Slow acceleration you can take it to readline, but if you try it with over 1/2 throttle, quickly, it just won't get going. I am thinking maybe dried out injector seats or possibly junked injectors? I will order new seats cause these look bad anyway. I suppose checking the valve clearances would help, seems a little too much tapping going on under the valve cover. Anyway, I had my sons help me with removing the bad windshield on Saturday, and we installed the new one ($128.00 for the windshield, $135 shipping). It is nice to be able to use wipers now!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
