My question is why? Seems unnecessary and will only add weight.

I want to run evo8/9 rotors to match the front. The 1g calipers were too small for them. This is the best solution I could figure out without adding a hydraulic parking brake. That is best for not dumping $500 on wilwood combination calipers.

I have made some progress on this lately.

First, I got a new gauge surround. Bye bye gorilla tape and cracked surround.

Second, I went a little redneck with blue realtree camo. I think it turned out awesome.

Third, I started making a turbo manifold. I sold the hx35 I just had rebuilt, and all those goodies. Now the plan is t3 twinscroll topmount hx40. Here are the progress pics. It is almost complete. I was sad when I had to remove the a/c from the car.

Last, I cut a hole in the hood for a new scoop. Still needs a lot of work to fit properly. The scoop is from a mini cooper.

So plans changed.... This time for the better. Here is a teaser of what will come and why. Plan is to have the rest of the car done in gti fabric to match. Good thing I am friends with an upholstery shop.

Today I installed the wrx bumper. I love how it looks. It makes the intercooler look small. Gotta wire up the fog lights still. But here are the pics.

Thank you all for the kind (and funny) words. I wouldn't consider it epic, just a guy changing his mind too often. At least with a daughter on the way this car has more of a defined purpose. That is to be a fast street car that can haul the family around.

The bumper is from a version 3 STI. From my research it is the same from 1992-1997. 1998-2000 are the same for the most part, but look slightly different around the fog lights. I removed the crash bar for the fmic. Other than a few zip ties, I trimmed the wheel arches to make it look round. It was very simple.

This is not an update from what I have done, but what arrowhead has done for me. I traded him the old 1.6 from my car as well as a few extra parts for this.

First he finished molding in the Mini hood scoop.

Then he replicated the hood out of fiberglass.

As you can see it only weighs 16 lbs. I am on the fence about overlaying it with carbon fiber for that complete ricer look or just having it painted with the car. Either way I am happy with how it looks and can not wait to see how it is on the car.

Sweet hood, are you gonna make more? What does stock hood weight?

Stock hood weights 37 lbs, so a little more than 50% reduction.

I'll probably be running a twin scroll t3 hx40 on my sedan. We'll have to meet up sometime since I'll be moving to ATL next summer.
