Changed the fuel filter/injectors seals, and as I'm putting on the passenger side tire (sure does make it easier taking the tire off for the bottom bolt on the fuel filter :)) I decide to check the strut boot. Boot looks ok...wtf is the bumpstop?? The PO put on new struts and didn't put at least ANY dampers on?? Even if it was torn and partially missing is better than none lol!! Geez now I gotta add that to the to-do list, right after #3 tear out the mechanical oil pressure gauge set-up,that's dripping oil onto the floor...

Rockauto has them listed under suspension as a strut bellow.

And if you buy the KYB versions the strut bellow comes with the damper/bumpstop

Found the leak that fills up the drivers side floor board! Thanks to this http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... leak+floor I decided to shine a flashlight thru the door into the fender, and lo and behold I could see the crack. I started to take off the top bolts to the fender, and then SNAP! broke the very first bolt! Damn! I see where this is headed. I had some expanding foam, and an extra nozzle that I attached that could reach the holes, and away I went with the foam. I think I got it pretty well,I haven't tested it yet.

And of course the foam didn't work. I'm going to soak the rest of the bolt with PB blaster or Liquid Wrench, and in the meantime see if I can't take off the door and try to repair it that way. Changing the transmission fluid and bleeding the clutch this week, hopefully get those bumpstops on as well as the front motor mount, and new oil pressure gauge(electrical)...and after Thursday I'm off work until the 12th  I plan on getting alot done to my GSX as well

Well I changed the transmission fluid, and had a little problem with a leak(no washer  ),re-drained it and now it's all good.

Got my electrical oil pressure sensor installed, but I have to drain the oil anyway because my fittings for the sender and sensor are leaking :-? Glad I did buy some Permatex thread sealant! But,I like to do things right the first time lol

Finally got around to changing my front motor mount, not bad at all! Just a little time consuming. Not slot of space to work with, and I need to shave alot more off the outside of the fan than the PO did.

Now gotta install the front bumpstops, since I don't have any, then fix the exhaust leak, and bleed the brakes!

Stickers are prob gonna have to go in the spring, noticed some bubbles of rust under them in two or three spots,a little bigger than a nickle. Sucks,I was beginning to like them alot more than when I first bought it.

Starting to amass odd and ends things/parts for spring.Scored some injectors plugs off a '97 Galant at Pull A Part, squeeze plugs to boot! No more stupid metal clips  I didn't know that they were different than DSM's. Was looking at some 2 pistons brakes off a Diamonte but they were in too bad shape. Got some Eibach lowering springs, and Intrax springs for a 92-95 Elantra to try out, since I've read on this site that they are interchangable with CSM's. Leaning towards the Eibach since they are a bit lower. Intrax looks to be near-stock height of my oem GSX springs. Next going to source 2g manifold and o2 housing.

Come home from work to find this, after staying at my parents for a few days because it's closer to work :(

Image

Image

My girlfriend tried to be upbeat and was hoping for the best, but I've avoided my DSM getting taken out by this tree before so I had that gut feeling that something was broke on it. Drivers side mirror and then these...

dented roof over rear drivers side window

dent on roof and shattered windshield

I'm kinda worried about the windshield dent. Will I be able to get that at least partially popped out and still have the windshield seal ok? I can deal with some dents but this really pisses me off,you know? It's not show-quality condition or an original turbo GT but I'm glad that I found it,it's not rusted out at all and I am in the process of gathering parts for this spring when I learn how to change my own timing belt and pulleys for the first time. Damn it all I almost made it thru winter without anything happening!! Fml

Ouch! :(

I wouldn't call myself a body man but I repaired a similar dent on the roof of my colt just over the P/S door and it was a PITA. In all honesty it looks like your car needs a roof skin.

No doubt. Wonder what that would cost to have done? Once the weather breaks I'm gonna see what can be done to at least the dent by the windshield. Looks like a nasty crease but maybe I can do something when the headliner is removed. I'm no body man either, looks like I'm got somewhere to start
