I am having problems with the gt4202. I got from redrum123. It is blowing oil I have ported releaf in the oil filter housing and am runing a weightless balance shaft. It also has a oil restrictor. He told me when u sold it to me the turbo was in pefect working order I have had it on the car now and I just do not have any other ideas on what to do. It even has oil in the compresser side of the housing where the fitler goes and in the charge pipe. What do I do? is there anything else I am missing??

I know right I am just about ready to sale everything this damn dsm since all of this work as been nothing but problems. I been having trouble with it runing lean at the proper globle and dead time. Then it is really touchey. I think the injs might need flow tested and cleam I have only ran 4 tanks of fuel in the car on E85. I even took them out to look at them as far as the eye can see they look fine but who knows right? I bought them used as well.

Please spell out the entire word and stop using "txt spk", it's annoying and is against the rules. Switch to firefox, it has a built-in spellcheck. Hopefully redrum will show up to explain the situation. We're getting sick of banning bad sellers lately.

I checked the oil return line it is fine. The hose is not restricting flow at all. I was told this turbo was fine when I got it. I also was not told of nicks in the compresser wheel not big ones but a few small ones I just let the go because I did not think that would be a big deal.

I talked to the guy that bought the block from redrum which turned out to be junk. He said the oil pump was locked up? I am puzzled at this. he said that everything was trashed.

I know this may belong in the feedback section but i don't care enough about the guy to even open a feedback thread.
I also had what you can call a "so so" transaction with redrum.
I won't go into detail since it's not necessary but i will say this.
From the moment you saw the nicks you should've brought it up to the seller.
Unfortunately buying used items isn't always the best especially when they are big ticket items and of course from someone just trying to dispose of parts and make whatever he can as he leaves the game.
Sometimes a good deal isn't all that great in the long run or as you've experienced in the short time you've had the turbo.

I won't say anything in regards to "user error" since i don't have any experience running a turbo like yours and what is needed to do so and can't judge on what i don't know.
I'll just say that at this point you can try and go after the seller but considering you ran the turbo already i doubt you'll get far.
Best of luck on whatever you decide to do but don't quit the game.

I also wanted to add even tho this is in the turbo thread. I bought 2 fwd trannys off of him one of which is a colt gt tranny. The other being a 92 dsm fwd. I was told the talon tranny had 2nd gear grind. The colt gt tranny was supost to be good but it grinds 3rd and rev. I tryed emailing him about that to with no response.

I have been contacted TWICE about this issue from the buyer and at no point have we continued any discussion about the turbo being " blown "

The buyer sent me a pm about three weeks back stating " the car is smoking and it didnt with the last turbo and that he had been driving the car around with it smoking like crazy... he stated that he had high oil pressure and I replied to him that these turbos arent meant to see 150PSI of oil pressure and that without balance shafts he HAD to port the Oil relief valve on the oil filter housing, These bigger GT series turbos dont really have " seals " they are bushing based turbos and the high oil pressure will push past them at the oil pressure I'm sure he was seeing. The only other thing that I could POSSIBLY see the problem being is the oil return having a kink, or not flowing freely.

I was contacted by Gaylant about a week after I sold him a clutch setup and he stated, since the disc came out of the car the disc wouldnt slide on the input shaft. I saw fault with this and REFUNDED the FULL price of a brand new disc.

I have done enough business on these forums and hope that people know me well enough that I would not try to take advantage of anyone.
ANdrew.
