I finally found a 4g sedan in decent shape. My family and I made the 3 hour trip to Vancouver, Washington on Saturday to pick this up. We made a weekend getaway out of it.

Here's what she looked like when we picked her up.

I had a few JDM items sitting in storage and thought these would give this plain Jane car a little character.

We got home today around 2:30pm and had a late lunch. My husband and I had a few hours before dark so we decided to dismantle the car and give it a facelift.

I also have the rear bumper with lips, rear tails, and center reflectors.

I can't decide if I want use a set of JDM clear corners and side markers. What do you guys think?

I like it! Is it auto or manual? Does it have an awd swap in its future?

It's an auto....and just like everyone elses, has the nasty blue interior!

If I decide to keep it, it will be an swapped awd. How soon depends on whether or not I decide to get the actual swap from a JDM Evo or using a swap from a USDM eclipse/talon. I may even consider using stuff from my old galant.

If I get the JDM stuff, most of the mounting points are already on the chassis. If I use stuff I already have, alot will have to be fabbed.

Oh nice! There's so much potential in those 4G sedans. I would have to admit that a real JDM EVO would be significantly better though.

A real one would be great. I don't know how I'd do driving a rhd car on our roads here. It was hard on the brain when I spent 8 weeks in Japan.

Thanks to all of you. I appreciate the vote of confidence. This body swap was extremely easy. Everything just bolted right up, with the exception of the front bumper mounts.

I had to cut most of the evo mount off and use the mirage ones. Just a small amount of welding and voila...it fit just perfectly. Sides of bumper and lower valance fit in all the mirages factory holes.

I hope to have the rest of the exterior on the car by the end of the week.
The only exterior part that I don't have is the factory side skirts. I have only seen the side skirts for sale on Ebay once, and someone used the buy it now before I could. I guess I'm going to have to go to some aftermarket fiberglass ones.

How low have most of you guys with the 4G sedans dropped your car? I'm afraid to go too low, or the front valance or the rear lips may drag on the ground.

Nice to see another 4g. I think 80% of the ones sent to the US were blue  .

I made 1g awd struts work on mine and it has around a 2" drop. I reused the oem Mirage springs out back so its a little bouncy. Once I get started on it again I'll find some stiffer ones.

The VIS side pieces actually fit very well. They were the only part of my fiberglass kit that were 100% bolt on. The front bumper and the rear bumper aprons required some work to be perfect.

Thanks for the info! I was looking at a set of those side skirts lastnight. I really do like the look of the factory ones though. I like the "EVOLUTION" imprinted in the sides. I'll have to take what I can get though.

As for suspension, I was thinking I may get another set of G2 fully adjustable suspension for it. I had good luck with a set for my C53 hatch.

I'm still not really not 100% sure though, as I can't decide to fully finish and swap this one, or sell it with the Evo parts on it and let the new owner complete the project.

I figure I can always do this conversion at a later date, as I had originally purchased 2 of everything to complete the body swap (exception of the side skirts).

Oh, and before I forget...does your passenger side front have the automatic seatbelt? I thought it was odd that the driver's side didn't have this.

Mine is a 95 so it had all manual belts. I did own a Colt Vista (same as Expo) with only a power belt on the passengers side though so I know what you mean. Very weird for sure.

There's something that turns me on about a woman that knows her way around a car. See, and I thought we were all guys around here... I only wish my wife knew how to do anything at all to her car. She won't even change the oil because she's too afraid of getting her pretty hands dirty, or even worse, breaking a nail... (not trying to be a sexist pig here)
That being said there's something about that style of Mirage that makes me want one. Those Evo parts make it look SO sick and having one that's AWD with a 4G63t makes it that much better. I personally think you should keep it and swap it. I'm sure it would get some mean looks from the haters. But one thing, you really NEED to drop that thing on some Evo 8 rims. Not to the point where it looks slammed, but presentable enough to where it looks like a stock height riding Evo. That thing's like 4 inches off the wheels. Good luck with the build and keep us updated.

Those cars are really growing on me, especially in EVO clothing. I'd really like to have an EVO 1-3....hell, I'd take any EVO really.
