Room is also an issue with these cars- clearing the master cylinders (don't forget this is RHD).
Don't YOU forget that we 'mericans got ours with the master cylinder on that side also  .

Ahhh, you sure about that chief?

Even though the runners extend into the plenum, they look like they can't be more than 3 or 4 inches long.
I just measure them and they're 4.3 inches long, including the flange :yawinkle:

Yup. Our brake master/booster is on the same side as yours. Here's a picture of my engine bay.

It looks like the picture you posted is of a GVR4, not a Mirage.

Yeah I was going off DSM's, not Colts! I'm not even going to try and understand how having a LHD car, but master cylinder on the right works- its hurting my brain already!

Back on topic I got some E39A twin pots in the post today, complete with rebuild kits and a VR4 1" master cylinder. :P

Yes, DSM's and GVR4's over here have the brake master on the driver's side. On Colts there is a rod that goes across the length of the car to reach the brake master. Since Colts were designed to be RHD first I guess they figured that was the easiest solution when they brought them to the US.

Thanks for that! you learn something new every day! It took me long enough to learn about JDM cars inside out, let alone USDM specs!

Finally another update for you guys..... sorry its been so long

Things are moving forward, even though I just bought an EVO 1 GSR which needs some TLC!

Turbo is dummy fitted up so that TRIKFAB (my fabricator) can work his magic and craft a custom water to air intercooler setup, along with a custom exhaust, and custom radiator which will be sitting under the radiator support panel due to clearance issues with the exhaust manifold. I'm looking at getting a 1g DSM thermostat housing so I can run the radiator cap on that (if anyone can help me out i'd appreciate it)

Note the twin 38mm wastegates are the new Tial V-band type. They are AWESOME.

After the cooler etc is done, its off to get a roll cage, then engine bay painted.

Here's some pics anyways.
