This is my second attempt at a 4G63t Colt (Previous attempt: http://forum.4g61t.org/viewtopic.php?t=16296), the first one failed because I got above my head with the wiring harness. This time I actually traded my Galant VR-4 for this Colt that already had the swap done. This was Nigel's (onefiveturbo) car.

I can't wait to autocross and road race this car.

Engine Mods
- Galant 4G63T Engine
- 1990 DSM oil cooler installed in front of radiator
- 1990 Laser turbo FWD tranny
- Exedy Stage 2 Cerematillic "Thick" clutch (3-puck)
- Walbro 255 High volume fuel pump
- Optima RedTop Battery relocated to trunk in Box
- Modified 1G intake manifold (shaved and painted nice)
- No engine upgrades (stock turbo, 450cc inj, etc...)
- EBAY Front mount intercooler
- Custom made mandrel bent 2.25" intercooler piping

Suspension Mods
- KYB GR-2 struts, lowered on cut TALON AWD springs

MISC Mods
-BMW E36 headlight conversion
-1990 Talon TSi Front bumper cut to fit FMIC

Future Stuff
- Change the bumper back to a Colt bumper.

Why do CSMs look so much better in white?

Nice looking car! Is it sitting next to a Porsche?

I like white, I just need some nice light rims that can fit wider tires.

The Porsche is my daily driver, it's a 1989 911 Carrera 4.

I forgot to mention I weighed my car last night, without me in it the Colt is 2490lbs. It took forever to find a weigh station. Now I'm going to strip it out.

That's the NSX  . I think the Colt fits nicely into the group, kind of like the wild child with ADD.

Hey glad you finally decided not to give up totally on dsm related stuff, and congrats on the colt. I think I have some barley used almost new stock motor mounts if you need some, just pick them up sometime when your in town again. Blown stock tranny, rear axle, fuel tank and pump, not sure what else I can give away.

And Cody, I think these guys are going to like you summer car, after all, who doesnt enjoy a NSX? You have a nice collection on the way  .

Sounds good Joe, I don't know what I need for parts yet I've actually spent the whole day tearing the 911 apart trying to track down some gremlins in the AWD system.

Is your car a full weight CSM, i.e. both front and rear bumpers, power windows/locks, AC or power steering? Full interior and spare tire? How much gasoline in the tank?

Just trying to get a good figure on what a 3rd gen weighs.

It's full weight, I don't know if the front bumper is there, I'll have to look the front mount isn't huge so it could be there. Yes to power windows, it's got manual locks, I don't know about A/C, it does have power steering. It is full interior, but it has Elantra front seats. I believe the spare tire is there, haven't checked yet. As for fuel I filled the tank, then drove half an hour trying to find a truck weigh scale.

I pulled the front seats out 37lbs for drivers, 33lbs for passengers. The back rests for the rear seats was 17lbs. Hopefully tonight the carpet goes.

When I have it stripped out I'll drive back to the scale and weigh it again, being poor all I can do right now is take weight out.

Well here we go:

Drivers Seat (Hyundai seats): 36.6lbs
Passenger Seat (Hyundai seats): 33.6lbs
Rear seat back: 16.6lbs
Rear seat base: 9.6lbs
Rear seat interior panels & rear shoulder belts x 2: 12lbs
Rear seat belt female ends (all of em): 2lbs
Misc. interior pieces (Floor mats, etc.): 10.8lbs
Main carpet: 14lbs (I was expecting more)
Hatch carpet & spare tire cover: 9.8lbs
Rear hatch hanging cover: 5.6lbs
Spare tire, jack & tire removal tools: 35.2lbs

All for a grand total of 204.8lbs of weight reduction. New front seats have to go in, but I'll try and find some that are significantly lighter. Does anyone know how much the stock 3g Colt seats weigh? So if I put the Hyundai driver seat back in my car is now at 2321lbs.

Update: Well I took out over 20lbs of sound deadening and a couple other things, I went out with the Gtech and ran a 14.8 @ 96mph, killing my previous best from a couple days ago of 15.7 @ 8xmph. Man is it loud inside now.
