Why rip all the dash harness and front chassis harness out?

You only need to swap the engine harness. It gets slightly ugly around the chassis/engine mating point but it is nowhere as funky as what you have going on.

I recognise those motor mounts... My Air compressor started on fire the night I pulled them off my parts motor for you... Pretty funny watching blue flames shooting out the side of the compressor.

Yes, thanks again for the mounts. Everyone is trying to convince me to put the built engine from my Talon in the Colt, but I think this one will do fine.

Hey, I've been working on swapping a 4G63 into a Colt for about a week now. (I've also been asking stupid questions in the newb section ) It started when I saw a guy trying to sell his Colt, I offered to trade him my PSP for it and he accepted, good times. I then found a 91 AWD Talon that had been wrote off at the impound yard and bought it for $750 Canadian. Then the fun began, I know it's not everyones thing, but I am trying to strip this car bare, make it as light as possible, then just run the stock 4G63, I just want it to learn how to auto-x with. I built a 12 second Talon last year and it cost me way too much money so I'm trying to keep costs down, I'm doing pretty good so far. Here are my pictures. Picking up the Talon from the impound yard: The Talon in the garage waiting to be ripped apart, no engine damage Woot: Colt in the garage The massive 1.5L Colt engine Stripping it bare Pulling the 1.5 Pulling the 2.0 Fixing the electircal Pulling the gas tank and exhaust

nice work so far! sorry i kinda snapped at ya on that last post. i was pissed off about something else... anyhow, looking good so far! lemme know if you have any other questions you might need. btw, i honestly wouldn't recommend getting the mounts from the dealer... there's gotta be a parts car or a member you can get em from for a LOT cheaper.

The continuation... Anyone need a dash. Notice the Talon dash is narrower than the Colt dash, strange. Stripping the talon for the wiring harness. It's just easier without the dash in. Wiring behind the dash, minus a couple wires I didn't need. So many wires, hooking this up in the Colt is going to be a pain. One of the sets of wires. After removal of the wires I could get out through the interior of the car. Underneath the steering wheel. A full garage. I know I've got insane wheel gap on my white Talon, just haven't gotten around to lowering it. ECU, MPI Relay, and Fuse box. I'm now done taking stuff off of the Talon, from here on in it's putting the Colt together. Did a little bit of body work. This is the other half of the Talons wiring, this is the engine bay wiring, minus a couple feet of wiring that I didn't have out at the time of this picture. I had a slight Freon leak, actually it wasn't very slight it was pretty fruit and banana big leak, I ran like a little girl and opened all the doors in the garage.

It's more work now, but I think it will simplify the setup and make troubleshooting electrical problems easier. Actually I don't really know what I'm doing .

Well I've just been reading around the site about other peoples cars and getting excited, but I haven't made very much progress the last couple days I just can't find motor mounts, I'm probably going to have to go 2 hours away to the nearest large city (Million plus) and go digging around the wreckers. I also need a clutch setup, I'll probably buy an OEM one since I'm not going for big power out of the engine.

I took some time off, trying to get my Talon up and running in time for summer, too many problems, so I started on the Colt again. The motor is in. The front motor mount doesn't line up properly, it's slightly off, I don't know what I did wrong, I'm sure it's something simple. It's going to be on hold again soon waiting for the fuel cell, fuel pump, fuel lines, and flywheel. My row of parts...
