I'd add wideband to that shopping list too.

I'd add that to the list but it's not 100% necessary to run ostrich, you can use stock .bin's and just add/change things like stutterbox/nlts/injector sizing. I need to get on a dyno and see how this setup has changed since my last run with a stock ecu and only a maf-t.

Do you have to get your eprom socketed? I am assuming yes.

Yes. I had mine socketed and the caps replaced by a local guy for $35.

soo are you running this with the maft also? or is there a way to run a blow through maf with the tunerpro?

Yes, I'm running maf-t with it. You can't just stick a gm maf in there though, you need the entire maf-t setup.

is there a thread over there on how to do this? because i already have a maft gen2 hooked up soo can i just get an ostrich and the program and tune it? also my ecu is already socketed

If your maft setup is already hooked up and plugged into your wiring harness, you probably don't need to worry about it affecting anything, you would just need to zero it out if you have it set for bigger injectors as you would change the ecu code with ostrich for bigger injectors. There really is no thread on how to set it up afaik, once you hook it up, you just make sure the jumpers are set on the ostrich box and connect it to the laptop/desktop. You can unplug it and bring it inside and connect it to a desktop if you don't have a laptop, it'll save the changes. After you have it hooked to a computer, it's as simple as opening tunerpro, loading a .bin and an .xdf file (I can give you both) and then start changing whatever you want, saving it and hooking it back up. For realtime changes, hook up a laptop, select "emulate", make your changes and click "update" and you're done.

I dont understand.
If this is as easy and works just as good, why is dsm link still in business? this is soooo much cheaper that its making me ask if it is really that good of quality. I mean if it had all the options of dsmlink then id put one in everyone of my cars

From the little experience I have on the subject (very little) DSM link seems to be the easier one to learn and more user friendly with a trusted name from previous years. This definitely sounds like a good option and I am looking into it for a 2.4NT. Seems like alot of other cars use the same tuning software so it should be easy to learn even being less new user friendly.

Everybody that gets into dsm's hears about link pretty quickly whereas knowledge about ostrich is treated like it was taboo. Link uses sliders and it's pretty hard to screw up whereas ostrich/tunerpro requires some thinking and you really should know what you're doing or you can cause some damage. The major thing that I like is that if someone discovers .something new about the code over at the dsm ecu yahoo group, I can swap the code in the amount of time it takes to connect to my emulator. The other thing is that link is meant for dsms and that's it, ostrich is an emulator that can be used in a lot of various cars, pretty much anything that uses an ecu that can be chipped.
