I woke up wednesday morning to go to work when i found this: Image

If you noticed the pillar trim piece missing, it's because the thief made off with the whole damn thing. This guy was so bright, he punched both locks and pried at the driver window before finally breaking the passenger side. I guess he needed my faceplate more than i did. Total losses are (insurance doesn't cover aftermarket parts): 6" autometer tach, 3" autometer boost-oil-water gauges, SAFC2, $300 tune, kenwood faceplate, 2 doors ?, and a passenger window. The idiot also ripped the plug from the SAFC2 making it useless. Why can't f*cking jackasses just buy their own sh*t. Does anyone have any ideas as to what i should do w/ the doors? As in, just get new locksets or get 2 different doors? All help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry for your loss bro.......

As a rule of thumb, i never use a-pillar pods..... Mount your shit on the steering column, it's less obvious that you have shit.

Always remove your "removable" faceplate. Even if you stuff it under the seat or in the glovbox, at least it's out of site!

Many of the junkyards out here have cars still with keysets..... I'd pull the doorlocks and have seperate keys for those locks. New Mirage keyseats cost AT LEAST $160.00 from the stealership. :(

Someone you know through other people or just a guy you passed on the street with the gears winding high, must have taken notice of the car and put it to memory. Screwdriver criminals suggest a meat head younger kid to me. Not to lessen your situation but I had 3 cars broken into in my driveway back when I was attending college (but living at home), and I can pinpoint the family house that and the family members that had strayed from the common path, and guaranteed, would have something to do with the theft in the ranges of grand larceny.

Jeremy, you will go through the usual steps of having someone violate your personal space, and you have every right to do so; just remember that! For all the damage that those punk(s) did, it is the insult and not the monetary loss that hurts the most, of this I am sure.

Maybe it's time for a change of game plan on how showy the car may have been, or to install an alarm and keep things a little less showing. I have a feeling that someone knew your car wasn't armed (or alarmed for that matter) and were biding their time.

A moment of silence for our comrade here .....

There is definitely a feeling of being seriously violated. Just went to the junkyard today to get a window and some temporary keyseats. Installed them this afternoon, now i feel a LITTLE more secure. My car isn't in any way flashy or showy. The crook must have seen the gauges through the window and figured they were an easy target. Now, i'm gonna be smarter and mount them in the center console, down where the radio usually is.
