sorry a little late, forgot! :(

Want to learn to drive well or do you think you already know how to drive? Then solo, the Sports Car Club of America's (SCCA) version of autocross, is for you. Solo is a "low speed performance driving competition," time trial style automotive event in which one car at a time competes against the clock. The course is defined using traffic cones on a large parking lot. The average speed is no more than one would experience in regular highway driving, but not faster then second gear speeds. The challenge is to control your car at the limits of acceleration, cornering, and braking. Solo is perfect for first timers and seasoned gear heads alike.

Drivers are rewarded by their skill and precision, not top speed or power. Cars are classed by their performance and modifications. Almost any car is eligible as long as it is in good mechanical shape. No special safety systems are needed except for stock seat belts, and a SNELL-90 approved helmet, and loaner helmets are available. Competitors must possess a valid state driver's license. Instructors are willing to help at no charge as well.

Solo is the safest form of automotive competition out there. So empty all the loose objects from your car, come on out, and give it a try. This is the most inexpensive way to get your feet wet in the racing world, as many well known drivers started out in solo events with the SCCA.

Trophies are awarded for fastest car of the day, and fastest indexed time.
