Hello everyone!
I have been lurking this site for 2-3 mounths now and wanted to say hi.
The car is a 1989 colt, nothing special, that I have converted to AWD from a 1991 talon.
Tha motor/harness/comp is out of a Galant (n/a 4G63).
I built this car for Rally America class OPEN LIGHT. That class has no turbo but a lighter min wieght (2600, compered to 2900).
The biggest differance to this car and all the other awd convertion cars is that I used the entier rear pan out of the talon .
This let me use the stock talon gas tank!!! It is moved forward 1.5 in and raised the same but I could use the ground clearance and didn't have to use a fuel cell. Just had to cut the fuel fill out of the lower drivers side and weld it on the top of the pass side ,weld together the two fill hoses and a long fill return and there you go!!
Here are some vids of the car on its second outing when I got all the bugs out of the wiring, but the header gasket blow becuse the front bolt came out.

All the ones on that site with Todd in the title are me.... 8)
I will be checking back and updating this with some more pics later...
And I will start by saying sorry I dont have but some finish pics of the build becuse I just moved and lost the camera in that elusive last box!!

Can we call that the mud pit colt? Its fruit and banana awesome but doesn't strike me as a rally course.

Bro I haven't seen a Supertrapp on a car in forever. I'd have to say since my buddy's 83 Toyota pickup...good shit.

Well I'm off to Mt Hood rally ...
I was asked to run one of the pace cars for the rally and have been up to late every night this week puting on lights and spare tire mounts and sutch.
This car was going to be a rally cross car for next year and on stage late in the year or into 2012..
I may come back with a few pics up on the web somewhere ,if I do I will link them.

And as for the last vids Yes it was a rally cross not a performance rally but you have to test somewhere!!!!
If there are people from the area come to tech on friday night to talk and see the process if you like ,I am head tech inspector for Oregon Rally Group.
Later...

Yes they are flares there is plans to make fiberglass molds but they are a way off.

The rally went well great test and tune ,found some bugs that need to be fixed but wow what a lot of fun.

Well done, and can't wait to see more action from that little beast. Lots of engineering and ingenuity went into your ride. I also see a skid plate peeking out from under there too. Probably more of a mud guard and sensor deflector eh?

Yes it has skid plates front and rear, but the front one needs to be remade higher. I hit it ALOT on saturday on stage, shows that when you try to make things to fast to beat a time crunch you make mistakes...
