Mods, please delete this thread. I am going to keep the car. There are too many people out there who don't have the money and trying to get something for nothing. Plus with gas prices going the way they are, it just makes more sence to keep it right now. |

If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling the car? I thought you had plans to autocross this year. Anyways, bump for a really clean car! |

I have really bad Repetitive Stress Injury in my arms from years and years of cad/design work and the doctor says I need to make changes in my personal life to take some of the extra strain away from my arms. So that means no mountain biking, wrenching on cars, auto crossing.... Yeah, all of the fun stuff. I will always need my arms in my engineering career, so if I have to give up fun stuff to keep a job, I will do that. The car is in great condition! I just hope it goes to a good home. |

Quote: Hey guys, up for sale is my original 89 Dodge Colt GT Turbo. It is white and has ~141,000 miles. I bought the car back in July for a project car. I immediately began cleaning everything that I could get my hands on and performed a huge amount of maintenance that had been neglected over the years. I decided to use all stock replacement parts to keep is as original as possible. The car still has its original engine, transmission, and turbo.... and they all work great! I even have the original owners manual and leather case that came with the car. I drive the car about 2 times a week back and forth to work and on the weekends. I was getting between 29-31 mpg before Georgia switched over to winter gas last year. The engine is really strong and everything under the valve cover is super clean, so sludge at all. It used maybe 1 quart of oil during the last oil change, typical for a 23 year old 4g6x engine. The transmission shifts smooth and does not grind any gears. The original turbo still seams in great condition... it pulls strong for 135 hp
so it has a stock 4g61T motor ? i though it has a 4g63T swap?
When I got the car, I found a bunch of receipts from Firestone where they replaced the timing belt, brake pads and a ball joint at one point. When I started tearing everything apart, I noticed that Firestone cracked the lower timing cover and tried to patch it with rivets. When I did the engine maintenance, I cut out that section of the cover, filed it down and made it much cleaner looking. The belt had like no tension on it either, I am pretty sure they had no idea what they were doing. I have replaced the following with stock replacement parts to make it a very reliable daily driver: Timing belt, tensioner, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, water pump, cam seals, all accessory belts, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, upper and lower radiator hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, ALL new fluids, KYB GR2 shocks and struts, front strut top hats, rear shock mounting bushings, bump-stops and boots, windshield wipers, brake master cylinder, ALL 4 BRAKE CALIPERS, outer front wheel bearings, sway bar bushings, sway bar end links, etc. The very few parts that I have upgraded are nothing permanent and I feel have made the car much better than stock. They are: Slotted front and rear rotors, Porterfield R4-S brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, ATE Super Blue brake fluid, 91 DSM shifter assembly, and a Hyundai valve cover painted by 89Mirageman. I still have the original shifter and it will be included with the car. The exterior is in pretty good condition. As you can see from the pictures, the original paint still shines great. The door handles have some peeling going on and there are a few small dents (its an 89 The interior is pretty good as well. There is a tiny crack in the dash (between the defrost vent and windshield) and the passenger vent has two horizontal flaps that don't move with the rest. I had removed the seats and plastic and cleaned all of the carpet when I got the car.... it turned out really clean. The seats are very nice, the only issue is that the passenger seat has a small seam coming loose about shoulder height. The rear hatch plastic is a little scuffed, but nothing crazy. The good: Just look at the pictures..... The car is freakin clean, original, and in great condition for an 89. A LOT of parts have been replaced and its 97.3% stock. The not so good: The catalytic converter is rusted through and has a small exhaust leak. There is a very slow leak from the rear main seal. The A/C does not work. The compressor rotates fine and builds pressure and the clutch on it works as it should. The last owner said it had worked fine for him over the past five years but was slowly getting warmer ever summer. I am pretty sure it just needs a re-charge and sealer (if you have access to R12). Here is a link to my build progress: http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=35769 THE CAR IS BEING SOLD WITH THE ORIGINAL 89 GT RIMS AND TIRES, NOT THE AFTERMARKET SETUP SHOWN IN SOME OF THE PICTURES! Price: $3,850 Location: Loganville, GA (east of Atlanta) PM me for more information and additional pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nope, stock 4g61t. If any of you guys have an account over at the GVR4 forum, could you post up a link to this car? It would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

I messaged one of the mods over there and its against the rules for me to post it up since its not mine. If you join just to sell a car it will get flagged for sure. Is it on craigslist by any chance? If so post up a link and I can add it to their CL section. |
