About the polished valvecover; these guys are right...it doesn't get much cheaper than polishing. It is for those who have more time than money. Search youtube for videos on polishing aluminum. I wetsand 220, 320, 400, 600 grits, then go to buffing. Same method for these covers to get the machining marks out.

Price is still $50 for the steeltop octagon or round versions, and $55 for the blacktop octagon or round versions.

As-seen at the Shootout, steeltop octagon and round versions on 90 and 91 sensors:




Had a chance to clean up a blacktop sensor and show the two styles installed.
The blacktop sensor looks pretty nice when cleaned up and that plastic lid is thrown away.
This sensor was extremely crusty and greasy when I started out.
I just sanded out the rough casting with 120 grit emery cloth and then just laid the heat into it on the buffer.
Not a 'perfect' job, but not too shabby for about 20 mins worth of work.
