I have decided to put a diesel engine in my rat rod. As much as I love my truck I built this thing with the intention of beating on it constantly. It has turned out to not be as reliable as I would have hoped for. I have worked out all my bugs but, at the end of the day it makes a good cruiser and not a good race car. Which works out well in my favor actually as I have a max effort 14b car here that I can stuff all my parts in and take that car to the next step. It makes a great race car and not a very good cruiser. So win, win I guess.

With that said as much as I may regret this down the road I am going to list all my RWD stuff and hope my decision for my two vehicles satisfies my needs. All of these parts have around 3000 miles on them and have withstood 800hp and 550tq time after time with zero issues or failures. As far as the conversion parts they have been dead nuts reliable. It has been everything else with the chassis we have had to fix, repair an go through.

Here is the list of what I have
Ken's Kustom Chassis aluminum adapter plate
Steel adapter for the chevy flexplate to six bolt mitsu crankshaft(two sets of ARP bolts)
Tilton chevy super starter
TCI SFI approved 168 tooth flex plate

$800 shipped with paypal fees

I do not have any pictures as everything is still installed and running as I have been tearing into the 14b talon and was thrashing to get another drag car to the track. I can send a few pictures of it all together but, if you go to youtube you can see a few videos of the truck running, including four dyno videos.

Om617. Something modest, different and I have to work a little harder to hot rod it out. Not to mention the others are so large and the chassis was not setup for a large engine from the beginning. I would love an om606 but, that is big money and I would have to change my transmission to fit the engine. If I went that route I could do a more popular four cylinder for cheaper and make the same power. The om606 is bad though.

If I would have went this route from the beginning which a partially regret I would have done a DT360 or DT466. I have rebuilt a 360 and have seen the tractor pull guys go nuts with those things.

The flexplate will now go with the kit. I need a small block flexplate and the one I have will not work with my new engine
