had a friend who ran a 14b on a 2.4 before he installed the 35r. i remember the experience well. it started to boost at 1800rpm and was at full boost at 2100rpm. it was hands down the funnest car ever driven to pull away from a stand still. just enormous instant power in 1st and 2nd. drawback of course was it was completely flat at 5500rpm. the smallest turbo I recommend for 2.3 is a 20g. but even those are complete tranny crunching torque monsters. the perfect match for performance and good power to 7500rpm is the hta green, red or 3052 .

Looks good Nate, I'm finally rubbing off

J/K man. It does look good though. I'm sure your buddy is looking down smiling, glad that you kept one of his projects alive.

Thanks Guys. Maybe I'll get to a bigger turbo one day... For now the plan is stock looking as possible, and make this rally!

Found a set of old school HKS cam gears and 272's and the Kiggly HLA in my friends stash, sol I figured might as well put them to good use on his car. I owe his wife a small fortune for parts, but she's as committed to me making this rally as I am.

Cam gears are a disaster waiting to happen. Needs five to six bolts. Three are no Bueno.

I've never had an issue with the old HKS gears, or the AEM gears. However I'm not planning on making over 400hp, or going over 8k.

Friend helped me with the head lights. I redid the wheels.

Had some bad luck with the fuel pump. Going to drop the tank off in the AM to be vatted at the radiator shop. Picked up another sending unit from my friends stash of cars, and there should be a pump in stock at the local oriellys...

No spare tanks at your buddies house to swap out?
