After some time looking around for a CSM/DSM, I settled on this guy. 1990 Eagle Talon TSI, needs some work but what DSM doesn't sometimes lol!!! And it is winking, seems the fender is adjusted too far in, causing the front of the light to actually touch the fender...one thing that needs addressed, more to follow...

So plans are to restore the car somewhat, replace anything missing interior-wise with original parts...like trim etc...just make it a fun, reliable car without a lot of hooky rigging that it has now. P.O. said it's been rebuilt with 2g pistons and new timing components within 1,000 miles. Balance shaft removal too.

2nd time I drove it to my new place, and it barely made it...lower radiator hose let loose...looks to be oem lol I'm surprised it made it almost 25yrs...new lower hose on the bottom, replaced the top one as well, better safe than sorry!

Sweet(not) bungie cord battery tie-down had to go, sourced one at pull-A-Part. Needs cleaned up then I'm going to touch it up with some black paint.

Genuine Ground control coilovers, pretty pleased about that! Throw on some new shock/struts and should be good to go! Front drivers side strut makes a noise on harder bumps, wonder if the bump stop is shot?

Opened up the stock aircan to find a K&N air filter!

Is is normal to tuck the throttle cable under the fuel rail?? The PO did, and I have never done a wire tuck so I don't know. The cruise control box has been relocated to the area where abs is on cars equipped with it. Something else to put back in place.

The cruise box was in that spot on the 90 models. 91-94's had it up on the firewall. Not sure why he did the throttle cable like that. It's supposed to be on the metal supports that are bolted to the fuel rail.

Yeah I thought something looked out of place there! Def going to untuck that.

I had no idea the cruise control was located there on '90 models, interesting. I do see holes drilled on the firewall, maybe someone tried to mount the box there.

Try moving the cable to behind the engine and then getting rid of that plastic shroud, then you can move the injector harness in the C space of the intake.

The 90 CC was completely different, so relocating it isn't a simple affair. Most toss it in favor of a single non-cruise cable for a cleaner bay and better go-pedal response as the CC linkage and extra cabling cause throttle response to be a bit slower.

^^This is exactly what I did. The cruise control hasn't worked on any talon I've owned anyway, and the 90 cables are just a mess. I didn't notice any improvement in throttle response though. Just made things easier to get around in the passenger side of the engine bay. I'm not sure the 90 has the bolt holes on the firewall to swap the 91-94 setup in anyway. I would have to check to make sure

small update...flew back east for a few days for Christmas and sent out some parts that will arrive soon here in Tucson...Dejon modified smic, random ic and intake piping,couplers,1g bov, new O2 sensor, various nuts and bolts,a few Energy Suspension bushings, new ball joints, a Sony cd player, passengers side splash guard, can't remember what else lol.

No pics of the Dejon ic,picked that thing up years ago and finally going to use it. Going kinda old-school build, it would be nice to pick up a Dejon intake and uicp or Buschur ic at some point. Expensive as all hell though
