Awesome! So glad you have stuck with this project. Because of you every time I get parts for my car that are dirty I have to clean and paint them.

Thanks Aaron and sorry for causing you extra work on your project 8) .

I did manage to weld up half of my exhaust today and bled all the brakes. It does feel good to complete another project, well it's close enough so we'll call it complete.

My last few builds didn't go so well. Well I did ok with my summit wagon but after my buddy backed into it by accident I lost all motivation to work on it. There are still a ton of things that I want to do to this car but it'll be down the road a bit. For now I just want to drive the thing for the first time.

Small update. I cut some 3/8" spacers to go between the rear upper strut mounts and the strut towers. The rear of my car sat about 1/4" lower than the front and it was bothering the crap out of me so this was my remedy to fix it. Thankfully the stock studs had plenty of threads left so nothing had to be modded there. Here is the new (and level) stance.

I also worked on my exhaust some more today since it was almost 70 degrees here. I still need to weld in the flanges and make some hangers but most of the hard work is done.

This thing was built on a super budget. $27 shipped for the 2.25" in/out Thrush turbo muffler from Jegs. A $47 catalytic converter from ebay and $84 worth of bends and flanges from http://www.mandrelbendingsolutions.com . They had the cheapest prices that I could find online by far. The parts were at my door 3 days later so I'll be using them more in the future.

You'll also notice my abandoned 4g coupe in the background. Hoping to get started on it next. I sold the engine and transmission to members on here over the summer and she's been sitting under a tree ever since.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw your thread. I know there's only so many ways to do an exhaust but it was weird to see how similar they were.

Funny thing is I tacked mine up with my brothers Miller 135 with flux core and then walked down the hill like 30 feet to my little shop to fully weld it up using my Hobart 187 MIG. So that meant taking it all off and on many times. A job for sure but I'm happy with the outcome and I didn't have to pay anybody to do it.

My brother helped me finish welding up the exhaust yesterday. I took it for a spin today but the left rear caliper was sticking. I came home and swapped it out since I had a few sets here, bled that corner again and all is good. It really is peppy. No weird noises or leaks so I'm happy.

Chris how is it compared to a stock 14b 63t swap? I've been debating between the two for a while now.

I've only driven it a few miles and haven't had a chance to really get on it. It's fairly easy to get 250hp from a 4g63t though so I think there will still be a decent jump in power over this setup.

Not really, chasing down a gremlin in the braking system. It'll drive perfect for about 30 minutes and then out of nowhere the front brakes start to drag. Let the car cool off an hour or so and all is well again. I'm thinking its the brake proportional valve but not certain. Other than that it runs great. Can't wait to get my GT lip, skirts and wing on and get her repainted. That will be the summer project I guess.

I actually drove it today as a matter of fact. Got into it a few times and its quite peppy. It's been a few years since I drove my old 91 1.5 colt with a 4 speed and this one is quite a bit quicker. Still nothing compared to a turbo csm but still quite fun.

Update: After some searching online I found a guy with a similar problem on a 3000GT. He mentioned swapping out his brake booster. Then it hit me, I never bothered adjusting the little threaded nut on the booster where it goes into the M/C. Tore it all down this morning and sure enough, the rod was adjusted almost 1/8" out too far. I screwed it in, put it all back together and bled the brakes once again and it fixed the issue. Just got back from driving it around for an hour and all 4 wheels and calipers are cool to the touch. Before after 15 minutes of driving the front wheels would be warm and you couldn't touch the calipers. It's amazing how over looking something so small can cause such a headache but that's how it goes. The car is so much fun to drive and seems even faster now. The brakes were slightly dragging the whole time before and I didn't even know it.
