Hit pap this morning with the wife. They have an 89 colt there. I snagged the adjustable shift cables so now I can complete the shift arm swap. My wife also spied something I have found ever elusive. These!!!

Now I no longer have to stare at the gap between the shift console and the dash. w00t!!

Awesome! Did the car by chance have a dash bezel thing in good condition or a tach cluster? Or the ac dash control.

Bezel was gone and was 100% basic. No AC, black bumpers. Only option it had was cavalier seats and ample rust

Made some 2" extension brackets for the sheet rails on the drivers side. Much mor compatible with my 6'8" length now.

So, looks like this car is coming back into the family after 1 1/2 years and being treated like a child molester in prison. Here is how she looks now. terrible shape and covered in too thin plastidip. Starting the removal and the resurrection. Gonna be a ton of work.

Here is how she looked when she sold

Now here is her sad status... :vom:

The start of the peel off, reveals it has NEVER been washed since sold, rust is there now.

Well, you don't see that every day Thom! Hope you are happy to have it back. Worth the price of re-acquisition?

Well, it came back at $2200, with v3 link, a new TIAL BOV, and two sets of rims (the 280z turbo rims will go away). The motor/link/BOV, intercooler are going to a friend, so my part will only be about 800, so I will drop a motor in it and fix all the niggly things to bring it back to it's glory. then it will get DD duty with one of my sons. Just the standard 2g-MAF and 560 injector setup.

Josh has this up for sale on the CSM facebook group for $650 now. Did you give up on her Thom?

I never really got a chance to get it. riceless90 bought it. I was thinking of keeping the shell and rebuilding it, but I have too much going on and not enough parts to bring it back to life. I started the plastidip removal when it was then sold to Josh.

Car would look much nicer (and sell faster) if he would complete the plastidip removal.

I removed plastidip from a Colt GT a few years ago for another member on here when I painted his car. I'm assuming it was done incorrectly. Some of it peeled off in sheets but for the most part it came off in tiny pieces. Only time I've dealt with the stuff and it immediately made me hate it.

I hope this car ends up in good hands again with someone who will bring it back to life. Sucks seeing one that was in such great shape end up like this.

I completely agree. I honestly believe the car had not been washed since March 2015 when it was sold (for $3200). The guy that bought it blew the HG that night!! Showed us a pic of the temp in the red. He took a few months to fix it and sold it to the guy we got it back from. That guy plasti-dipped it (too thin I might add) and installed 1980 280zx wheels on it with a very wrong offset. He did buy ECMLink, a recirculating Tial BOV and a few other parts, but then lost interest and took a huge loss in the sale.

It is rusting at the rear wheel-wells and at the passenger kick-plate area, but is still salvageable.
