I like build threads with action so lets get right to it..
The title of this thread says it all, this car is mostly built from friends spare parts bins and stuff I have laying around.

1989 Eagle Summit
160K
Stock 1.6 N/A bottom end and head, intake mani and TB
2.0 Cams
Small 16G
Link V3 Speed Density
E85 w 1100's
Blue wire mod
Road Surge shift box

First thing I did was redo the intercooler piping, starting with the cold side.

Boss let me toss em in the black PC bin at work.
Image

Swapped the 14b it came with for a small 16G
Swapped in a turbo Tstat housing at the same time so I could run coolant, tapped the return into the heater hose the old turbo was oil cooled only.

J Pipe mock up

Image

Welded up

Image

Made a new (kinda) exhaust for it

Battery Reloaction
Image

Working it out..

All that work to fit a 3" intake..

As she sits today.

A 90 Colt at pull and pay gave its star. I think this car deserves to ware it.

More later

Thanks fellas! I havnt posted much here because I have been spending a lot of time reading on here and wrenching.

My goal is 300HP for 2500 bucks. Needs another boost leak test, I think I'm going to add an adjustable FPR and some final adjustments in DSM Link and it will be ready for a couple dyno pulls.

Biggest problem is keeping the tires from spinning all the way through second..

Good luck! My 1.6 was around 240whp and spun most of the way through 3rd on a five-speed.

An automatic would spin less, I'd think. More power loss through the trans, taller gearing, etc.

I spun about 40-50% less when I swapped from 5 speed to auto..

Hopefully this is the case for him. Doesn't look too good if he is already spinning through 2nd though. That leaves only one gear to finish on.

Yeah, looks like he needs a tire upgrade...

Yeah.. I should have mentioned my tires are poop, all miss matched and half bald..

Now that pic of a wagon wheel has me wanting to make steel tires so I can light up sparky burnouts :supz:

The car is coming along quite well. Glad it went to a good home. I hope you enjoy it. We did.
