Hello all!

Im Tepi from Finland and i have been lurking in this forum a while. I want to share this project to everyone. Im little bit mitsu fanatic and own some mitsubishis, so of course i own few colts :)

This project name is LoCostColt because its build with leftover parts. Its going to be "trackday" car.
Now i have build this 9 months and i have drived this on few trackdays. Now the summer is over and im going to fix and register this car in the winter time. In last summer it have 4g63 NA motor, 2G maf, lsd, some evo suspension, 2-1/2" exhaust, vr4 fuelpump, turbo ecu and injectors, running in e85. Last month i have building another motor. Its 6 bolt turbo with eaton m62 SC But lets start this build thread....

2012-2013 Winter

Started this project:

Towed from snow banks to garage
Image

Washed properly ( yes i had support beams )
Image

Stripped & washed inside

Image

Purchaced 4g63 NA motor and transmission:
Image

Installed e33 gti knucle that i can install double piston brakes and bigger disks (evo1). Also i installed D2 struts.
Image

Welded some rust holes. 12! actually and this job isnt over yet...
Image

2013 summer ->

Turned 1.6 flywheel and also installed 2.0 pressureplate on it!
Image

2.0 Engine & transmission going in. Also i rebuilded transmission and installed 1 way type clutch pack lsd.

Image

Exhaust:

In the track. I drived same times as evos in windy track. It was still missing some power because i didnt have time to dial afr:s and ignition. But it was fun.

Trackday driving:

Purchaced supercharger. Its is from some mercedesbenz model.
Image

SC was missing pulley so i had to install/ fabricate support bearing, pulley, etc.
Image

SC installed
Image

Bypass so it isnt making boost in partitial throttle.

Testing:

So i was on dyno with this and session was little bit dissapointment. It is missing some boost on higher rpms. I think belt is slipping. It is only 5 row serpentine belt. I need to make another crankpulley with takes 6 groove belt.

It made 200hp and almoust 300nm torque. Torque comes in very low rpms. AFR was ok and i advanced base timing couple degrees because im running on e85.

200hp 300nm

So car is in this state now. Now i have to look where i do find missing boost pressure and then im going to overpaint car ,fix rust holes, register etc.

Good to see you here!

You obviously are quite knowledgeable about cars/mechanics, and Mitsu's in general. You will have fun here. :supz:

Thanks for comments :D

I had e3 turbo in my shelf but i wanted to try supercharging. I havent newer played with these. So help would be greatly appreciated.

So im missing boost, is there anything else what it would be ?
- Belt is slipping
- 1g bov is leaking
- Is charger spinning too fast and its dropping airflow volume
Charger is spinning 1.9 times faster than cranksaft and its volume is ~1 liter So theorically it would charge littlebit less than 1bar ? Am i right ?

I also love the sound and throttle response! :)

I think you should pressure test the system and check for leaks. If that's all good then try running a smaller pulley?
