So I have this Elantra that is worth absolutely nothing in the real world, so I'll see what I can make this little G4CR(4G61) can do. We converted to a 60mm throttle body and did a custom head port and polish. This engine has the big intake runners... We're adding 92-95 2.0 MT turbo 4G63 cams, adjustable cam gears, Evo rockers, Crower springs and Titanium retainers, .5mm o/s Intake valves, 1mm o/s Exhaust valves (All Stainless), 3 angle valve job by HDS Machine in Escondido, CA. MLS head gasket, ARP Main & Head Studs, ARP cam and Rod bolts. 1" u/s Aluminum pulley, lightened flywheel, 450cc turbo injectors (w/ resistor pack), walbro 255lph (knock-off), fuel pressure regulator, cheap eBay header that will have to be modified to better serve the Wideband AFR (to be added after ECMLink upgrade is added shortly.) And I'm sure there's more I forgot... We are just finishing the last of the custom mods and I am planning to post pics of this build as we go. :supz:

Reason for Edit: Remembered more parts #2 to add pic of car

Here are a couple pics of the intake manifold before and after we bored it for the 60mm.

Also, Any suggestions would be very welcome! I'm an engine builder, not a tuner. I'm putting this together from what I read on the net. :o

Very cool!

I'd love to swap all my Colt GT stuff into an elantra...but the early 90s ones are long extinct up here :(.

Thanks. My biggest problem so far is finding suspension parts that I can adapt to it. Knowing what parts from what cars will fit, things like coil overs and axles. Any suggestions in that dept would be greatly appreciated. I'm also wondering if anyone can give me an estimate of the power this setup will produce and what I should expect to be the weak link. I'll keep putting up pictures as we progress with the build, but I'm always looking for suggestions or constructive criticism.

I'm leaving the 1.6 but building it with 2.0 parts  . My trans is the F5M22. Is the trans you are using stronger than mine?

I had a chance to buy a 94 GLS with a sunroof and rear discs about a month ago for $575 and passed on it. Super clean too, no rust at all. Just didn't need another "project" in the yard. :P

I do like these cars though. Good luck on yours and I can't wait to see more pics and progress on the build.

do the hubs and knuckles bolt right up or do they need to be modified?

as far as i know it should bolt up. you might need a different axle seal like the csm need.
