Discovered a few other niceties that came with the car: Battery has been relocated to rear hatch already Colt GT Recaro seats Colt GT door panels Colt GT front captive hubs, Rotors, Calipers and knuckles Colt GT Axles installed (equal length) Colt GT Cluster Two brand new axles still in boxes Rear seats are out of a 2G eclipse, will put the supplied stock seats in it Infinity G20 (1992) front bumper SMIC installed, but not getting airflow due to bumper not having the fog light hole covering removed??? Perfect e316g AFPR Wally 255 660's Some obvious issues with the car: PCV removed and hole filled with a blocked off AN fitting (To give the BOV a vacuum source) Stock NT IM (See above) Stock colt radiator (has it's own radiator cap) installed, NT head still has it's radiator cap installed too Stock (1.5L NA) downpipe bolted to 16g O2 housing (hence why he could never find a gasket for it) Stock DP and cat, welded to 2.5" exhaust to a fart can. (I plan on running the AWD downpipe and resonator to the 2.5" and having it connected there.) Colt GT wing, installed a little crooked Swapping out the head tonight, (will be a NT head with Turbo cams, 3g lifters and AEM adjustable CAM gears), I expect this little scooter will be purring like a kitten. Installing new HG, ARPS, IM gasket, EM gasket, PCV. stock Turbo IM, 3" AWD downpipe, water pump and gasket, 1g DSM Radiator, thermostat |

Well, spent a very cold and wet Saturday working on the colt. Removed the head (found HG leaked because the front headbolts were only at 10-30ft lbs.) Not trusting the head, I replaced it with a spare head I had off a NT (I swapped in a spare set of turbo cams and 3g lifters) and added my evo 3 exhaust manifold and a Tuybo IM (it had a NT manifold on it, shaved dangerously thin). Of course, she also got a 1g DSM radiator, new HG, ARP head studs and cam cap bolts, adjustable cam ears, new timing belt, tensioner and pulleys, IM and EM gaskets, turbo-manifold gasket (it didn't have one??) thermostat, TB gaskets. It seems to have a vacuum leak somewhere (it is @ 14-16 vacuum when idling, I expect it should be 20-24), but warms up nicely and idles @ 800 very smooth. Not much heat, but I guess we didn't get the heater core flushed very well. So, we will be runing a couple more flushes to clean the system out. http://youtu.be/DMmhHfMS_08 |

Removed the way-to-big 17" wheels and dropped her on the stock steelies. She will roll like this for a bit until I acquire some 15" wheels. |

The colt has been running flawlessly (except for a noisy throw-out bearing). I replaced the 13's with some 15's. So, I treated the colt to a photoshoot with my son(s) talons. |

Nice progress, I have the same wheels on my Evo in a 17x9. |

My son had these on his GVR4 with massive 225/60-15'. We swapped out he rearend and front spindles with a talon so h could move to 5-lug and install his 17's. So I got these. These Drag wheels are very light. |

Ok, I received my new front struts (stock). I believe I have read on here (please correct me if I am wrong), but if I put 1g AWD rear/front springs on the stock units from the colt, I will see around a 2" drop, correct? |

Post subject: | Re: 92 Colt rescue |
Well, I found out the springs I snagged from the AWD 1g are Eibach's (WIN!!), but no drop, which is fine for me right now. So, I went about installing my new brake pads and rotors, but alas, though the VIN indicates a Colt GL, it does NOT have the ventilated discs on the front, it has the solid discs, and the smaller caliper bracket to go with it. So, my new rotors will not fit. So, I decided to install the Colt GT knuckles and calipers that came with the Colt purchase (There is surface rust on the rotors, but the pads are near new so the rust should knock off after a few stops). Everything went nice until after I stopped, the DS caliper will not release all the time. Found it is a bit sticky. Rather than rebuild it, I am picking up a new pair from O'Reilly's today for $22.99 each. Depending on when my new rotors and pads ship, I might run just the new calipers on the old rotors and pads and see what rust gets knocked off. So, the front is nice and stiff now, and it will be a pleasure to be able to stop more than twice in a row without the brakes fading. |

Installed the new calipers last night and bled the fronts. (I really wanted to paint them before installation, but the wife needed me to drive separate today, so I will buy another set after Christmas and have them made purdy). Brakes still feel a little mushy, but better than before. I suspect some air in the lines for the rear drums or a dying booster (I will look to install a 15-16" out of a diamante to fix this if the rear bleed doesn't correct the issue), but at least it stops, repeatedly!! |

It hit 65 here in Indy on Saturday (it is 25 as I type this), so we did some work! Dropped the tranny on the Colt and found the reason for my shifting woes (I hope). A crappy 6-puck that seems small for a 4g63t, and was worn. Plus, the TOB was chattering away, put in a new one. So, I installed a stocker to use until I buy an ACT 2100 or 2600 with a new flywheel. I also swapped out the badly crushed BOV it cam with for an uncrushed one to test. Here is to hoping I can get her over 9lbs of boost!! |
