I got in some work in Last Friday and started on the interior because need to get the old wire harness out. The harness that's in this car is melted or hacked to beyond believe, so it needs to come out.

Yeah, the seats needed to come off because this big guy was not going to fit with the monkey bars in the way,lol.

I have never got to much into drag racing, but correct me if I'm wrong... wouldn't a fiberglass hood hurt performance, or just be a waste of money? Don't you want more weight over the front wheels?

Yes and no. Once the car hooks any additional weight is only hindering acceleration. A good suspension set-up and tires can compensate for the front end being light(er) along with the ever-important driver mod.

Well in my case, 1) the auto trans is much heavier than the 5 speed 2) full slicks. Suspension is what my concern is right now.

Not that I know from experience, only second-hand information I have gained.... Super stiff springs and struts in the back will help keep weight from transferring to the back of the car when you launch. A "wheelie" bar is also great for FWD cars, but you set the rollers to actually be on the ground. Acts like a lever and keeps the front end down. I strongly recommend you research this one and ask fast FWD guys questions.

Yeah I know a few honda guys that deal with this issue all the time and pretty much that the rear springs are hard as a rock. Not only that the rear is lifted to transfer the weight more to the wheels by lever counter balance. Also they actually have a front cross member that you can had weight to the front weight for maximum traction if need be. Pretty much it is counter weighting the balance and having a light car is what help the most. Some honda guys say they don't need "wheelie bars" because of the fact that they play around so much with weight and suspension that they can get the "right combo" as they call it. If you need the "wheelie bars" than that's the last resort to fix the problem, so they say.

Some guys local near me are all over me because I'm going fwd route and pick on me. So I'm find with it, I like to figure things out and make things work. I don't give up that easy so what ever I need to do I'm going to do and make my dream come true. They can laugh all they want but when I achieve my goal, I will be laughing last,lol.

just get a loose enough convertor and then hold on :)

Ok I got some work done, the 5 speed trans mount is different than the auto mount. So instead of getting a auto mount which is hard to find, I said forget and convert the 5 speed one to a auto,lol. I used my fab skills and it came out like this:

Update 4/7/13.....

I haven't been working on her much but I picked up a set of skinnies 15 x 3.5 centerlines from a guy I work with that was never used. The only problem with them was because they were 5 x 100mm. So went to a local machine shop and had them re drill them for 5 x 114mm. But right now here is the pictures of when I first got them.

Ok after a few months on the back burner, I started the project again because race season is coming fast, so need to start getting on this beast.

Today I welded my new radiator support seeing the old one rotted off and banged up badly from what I don't know.
